Personal History Born in the quiet Canadian countryside, Christine Yang was the daughter of two Academics. Her childhood was defined by a love of puzzles and games, always the one to know all of the rules verbatim. She liked to spend her time reading, playing, and creating games for herself and her younger brother. The preferred realities, histories, schematics, and science over fiction when she read. She always handed in her school work exactly on time, but wasn't always the most focused child. Christine would leave for recess at the exact right time and was never back a second before she was required to be back.

Christine was a natural fit for Starfleet. Strong grades, opinionated, eager to learn. She gravitated to Operations, specialising in Resource Management and Processes. She was never known to be overly flashy or loud, she never especially put her name first for anything - but she was a learner. She studied, she worked things out, took a problem apart mentally in her heard and put it back the way she needed it to be. Yes she cut corners, but they were the ones that she knew she could cut to still get the best results. Some called it tenacious and smart, some might think it was bending the rules. Eitherway, she got results.

In her Starfleet career, she began as a Crewman on the USS Hampton in a cramped Ops department. Her careful nature initially seemed misplaced in this highly stressful environment, but she quickly built a reputation for accuracy and expedience. She made space in an unused jeffries tube to make a reading nook for herself, and often spent hours pouring over schematics and regulations. She was tasked with managing resources for repair teams and won the nickname of "Sharp" for her dedication to exact timing and efficiency; she impressed her superiors with her ability to cut out time and power wastage.

As an Ensign on the USS Kyoto, when the ship was involved in a border skirmish with the Cardassians, Christine discovered an EPS conduit failure that was silently haemorrhaging plasma, resulting in a significant power drain. Christine lead the effort to get the leakage fix which allowed the Kyoto to safely retreat from the conflict. When asked how, she explained how she had bypassed the standard EPS re-routing and patched power directly through a coupling conduit meant for phasers. It saved the ship but she was reprimanded for going "off book". In response, Christine authored a 50-page report arguing how her method not only was the best option, but should be implemented as a permanent bypass in case of emergencies in the future. The Captain agreed, begrudingly.

Christine rose to the rank of Lieutenant on the USS Marigold, developing her approach to unorthodox logistics and time-saving accuracy. She became Chief Operations for the vessel and her reputation matured in step with her new position. She learnt to negotiate and communicate better; becoming a leader who would follow the rules but allow her team to think outside of the usual regulations and methods. They became brain-stormers, creatives, problem solvers. She developed a team that would take problems apart and put them back together again, in the way that Christine had always done so. But with a stronger leniency towards the rules than in the past. If she was ever questioned on her methods, Christine always knew the exact rules she was being accused of bending and could explain why that wasn't the case.

Her leadership earned her a promotion to Lieutenant Commander, where she was then selected to the Executive Officer of the USS Pandora; her skills and tenacity required for their new mission as a Rapid Response vessel.

During her Academy time, Christine met and immediately fell in love with a Risian cadet known as Liana J'Oh. Christine and Liana were clearly smitten with each other and were inseperable throughout their time in San Francisco. However, their diverging careers once graduated and serving in Starfleet meant they were often apart. They could sometimes only see each other once or twice a year. The distance caused great heartache for Christine who was enjoying her career but knew she wanted to share her life with Liana. Finally, after a turbulent event in Liana's service, they got married. Liana initially took a break from active service to be a partner for Christine, able to join her on some vessels. When Liana became restless, she chose to go back into service. Luckily for the couple, they were able to stay together on the USS Marigold and then the Pandora.
