| Personal History | As an only child his parents - especially his mother - put a lot of pressure on him to work hard, to put himself in the best position possible to be chosen to be joined. When he was overlooked for this honor, his mother took it especially hard, calling out loudly against the corruption and nepotism she saw as inherent in the system, as those that were chosen came from more affluent, well connected families. Whether her observations were correct or just the disappointed rantings of an overly protective mom, it cast their family under a cloud of shame and dishonor. So as to escape the stgma of his family name, and to put his hard work, skills, talent and education to good use, Joza settled for the Starfleet Academy. | |
