  • Command (Primary Manifest)

    The Command department is ultimately responsible for the ship and its crew, and those within the department are responsible for commanding the vessel and representing the interests of Starfleet.

  • Bridge & Helm (Primary Manifest)

    Responsible for the navigation and flight control of a vessel and its auxiliary craft, the Flight Control department includes pilots trained in both starship and auxiliary craft piloting. Note that the Flight Control department does not include Fighter pilots.

    • Mendazians

      The Mendazians were a humanoid race from the planet Salvaxe, located within the Inconnu Expanse. Starfleet first observed the planet during the USS Merrimack’s initial crossing of the region in 2376, noting they were a non space-faring but technologically advanced race, entirely self-contained in their quiet pocket of the Expanse.

    • The Ravagers

      This group of aggressive raiders, which reside just inside the Expanse along the Inconnu Corridor, were first encountered by the USS Lakota and USS Freedom in 2384 during the first failed attempt to enter the Expanse. Referred to as the Ravagers by the Expanse’s other denizens, they have grown in influence, strength and ferocity in recent years and are suspected to be behind the loss of Deep Space 7.

    The operations department is responsible for keeping ship systems functioning properly, rerouting power, bypassing relays, and doing whatever else is necessary to keep the ship operating at peak efficiency.

    The engineering department has the enormous task of keeping the ship working; they are responsible for making repairs, fixing problems, and making sure that the ship is ready for anything.

    From sensor readings to figuring out a way to enter the strange spacial anomaly, the science department is responsible for recording data, testing new ideas out, and making discoveries.

    The medical department is responsible for the physical and mental health of the crew, from running annual physicals to combatting a strange plague that is afflicting the crew to helping a crew member deal with the loss of a loved one.

    The Intelligence department is responsible for gathering and providing intelligence as it becomes possible during a mission; during covert missions, the intelligence department also takes a more active role, providing the necessary classified and other information.

    • Rapid Response Unit

      Using the USS Pandora’s sensor pod, the ship receives a constant stream of alerts from across Starfleet’s emergency subspace network. The Rapid Response Unit is responsible for monitoring the network and responding when a situation requires the Pandora’s presence. The Unit has the Network Pod, an interactive station that gives a wide visual display of the network communications and allows the Dispatcher to accept an alert or allocate the case to another vessel in the Fleet.

    Responsible for representing the Federation and its interest, members of the Diplomatic Corps are members of the civilian branch of the Federation.

  • Research (Primary Manifest)

    The Research departments are attached to long deep-space missions, with the aim of studying a range of fields under a specific direction. Research can liaise and connect with any other department on the ship, as determined by the current research project underway. The Pandora's Research department is currently focused on a joint Medical and Science investigation of the Inconnu Expanse, looking at alien biology and anthropology, medical effects of gravitational storms, stellar cartography and astrometric mapping, and the geological study of life-sustaining planets.

  • Civilians (Primary Manifest)

    Civilians play an important role in Starfleet. Many civilian specialists across a number of fields work on occasion with Starfleet personnel as a Mission Specialist. In other cases, extra ship and station duties, such as running the ship's lounge, are outsourced to a civilian contract.

    Civilians may also be family members and friends of crew, temporary passengers, observers or special guests onboard the ship.

    • Recreation

      For a deep-space, long-haul mission, Starfleet has improved and expanded upon the recreational facilities of the Luna Class vessel. Whereas typical ships will have a Mess Hall and Holodecks, the USS Pandora has entire level dedicated to dining, leisure, and other Earthly delights to make our extended missions a little easier.
