Additional Information

Location Ship Operations
Description MODES:

The normal flight and mission operations of the Luna Class starship are conducted in accordance with a variety of Starfleet standard operating rules, determined by the current operational state of the starship. These operational states are determined by the Commanding Officer, although in certain specific cases, the Computer can automatically adjust to a higher alert status.

Cruise Mode - The normal operating condition of the ship.
Yellow Alert - Designates a ship wide state of increased preparedness for possible crisis situations.
Red Alert - Designates an actual state of emergency in which the ship or crew is endangered, immediately impending emergencies, or combat situations.
External Support Mode - State of reduced activity that exists when a ship is docked at a starbase or other support facility.
Reduced Power Mode - This protocol is invoked in case of a major failure in spacecraft power generation, in case of critical fuel shortage, or in the event that a tactical situation requires severe curtailment of onboard power generation.
Evacuation - All crew and passengers must immediately disembark the ship
Landing Mode - For the rare instances in which the Pandora must land on a planetary surface or other fixed structure.

SHIFTS:

During Cruise Mode, the ship’s operations are run on three 8-hour shifts designated Alpha, Beta, and Delta. Should operations require a Yellow Alert mode, this reverts to a four-shift system of six hours each to keep crew fatigue down, with a Gamma shift included.

Beta Shift – Executive Officer (XO), Four Chief Officers (Rotating)
Delta Shift – Second Officer (SO), Four Chief Officers (Rotating)

DAILY SCHEDULE:
Depending on the current Shift and Bridge Watch schedule, officers are given a general daily planner to manage their overall activities. This will typically start 2 hours before their Shift is due to begin, and include eating a meal, performing regular hygiene maintenance, an exercise period, and preparing for work. The activities of an officer during the Shift will depend on their position and department, and whether they are required on the Bridge for Watch. A second meal period of 30 minutes is included within the Shift time, typically around the 4 hour mark. After this, officers return directly to their departments, Bridge, or required location. Following the completion of their shift, officers are able to enjoy a period of recreation (either in their quarters or Deck 5), another meal period, attendance at ship events, optional exercise period, and a second hygiene maintenance. Officers are recommended to sleep uninterrupted for a period of 8 hours, ensuring they are awake again at least 2 hours before their shift.

Some roles will requires officers to partake in mandatory study and report-writing in addition to their 8 hour shift. However, all officers are instructed to ensure they maintain a non-working period of relaxation, exercise, meal intake, and full sleep cycle.

During Yellow Alert with the Gamma Shift added to the schedule, general operating activities are maintained, however Shifts are reduced to 6 hour periods with the included 30 minute meal time reduced to 15 minutes (unless otherwise instructed by Chief Officers), and a one hour period of "Standby" added to either side of the Shift. The Standby period requires officers to remain prepared and ready to go on duty, or return to their areas if required.

During Red Alert, officers are expected on duty and at their stations at all times, regardless of their usual daily activity schedule, unless otherwise ordered by their commanding officer.
