Krysia stood looking at herself in the mirror she hadn’t dressed up like this since graduation at the Academy, her hair was left long and she was wearing a long red dress with a plunge neckline that hugged every curve, she didn’t care if it drew every pair of male eyes on the ship there was only one set she was interested in looking good for. She smiled as she sensed James approaching the door and headed over to meet him.

James tugged at the neck of his shirt, it had been some time since he had been on a real date and he was really looking forward to it. The door opened just as he approached it. James smiled as Krysia open the door.

“Hi” she smiled as she stood in the doorway, she had to stifle a laugh as a poor crewman walking down the hall nearly fell over someone else as he passed by in the corridor. “Am I overdressed?”

Shaking his head James said, “Not at all you look amazing.” Stepping forward to give her a kiss, “James said, “You ready for dinner.”

“As much as I’d love to just stay here wrapped up in you...” she grinned, “Yes I’m ready, let’s get going”

Smiling James said, I’m tempted to forget about dinner, but we always have later.” Holding out his arm Krysia took hold as they made their way toward the Pandora’s Box.

“You do look very handsome tonight” she smiled as she held onto his arm as they walked, “if I could get away with just spending all my time with you I would.”

James nodded, “Same here, it’s nice our schedules allow us this time together. Meeting you has been a big blessing for me. Usually I spend long hours in the office not really wanting to sleep.”

Arriving at Pandora’s Box the doors slid open, motioning to a nice table in the corner Krysia smiled warmly as James helped her with her chair before sitting down himself, it wasn’t long before they were approached by Huyo.

The Deltan chef didn’t take long to arrive, smiling that dazzling smile as always as she approached the table. Huyo was wearing a subdued, practical blue dress that was unusually conservative, not wanting to overshadow her guests.

“Hello dears,” she said to James and Krysia. “Have you chosen your order?”

Krysia smiled politely, "Since I'm new here what would you recommend?"

The question having been offered, Huyo’s smile grew into a grin. “Oh honey, if you really want to be exotic, there’s a gorgeous Romulan recipe that I’ve been wanting to do for months. It’s a very spicy stew for a starter, complete with fresh vegetables that I’ve been growing in hydroponics, while I have an errhuiv’nei dish for a main course. It’s comparable to a Terran lasagne, but the taste is very different. The dish is just sublime when you have the right spices on hand, which I do, of course.”

"Sounds good to me" she looked at James, "What do you think?"

Looking at Huyo James Smiled, “Sounds good to me, I think I’ll have the same thing, and maybe something chocolate for desert.”

Krysia grinned, "Oh you really are a man after my heart aren't you?, I love chocolate of any form. Call it a blessing or a curse but all I know is after a hard day it's good to have something chocolate to eat."

“Chocolate it is,” Huyo said with a tinkling sound in her voice, and despite her seemingly not doing anything to summon it, a hovering tray slowly floated over with a lilac bottle of wine on it. “For now, I can offer you a lovely wine from Cardassia. It has a really succullent taste, and it’s absolutely safe for your respective biologies.”

"That would be lovely thank you" Krysia smiled warmly.

Looking at Huyo James said, “Huyo your dishes are always amazing can’t wait to try it, and thank you.”

“You are very welcome my dear,” Huyo replied pleasantly, and with that, she left, leaving Krysia and James to chat. The Deltan chef didn’t take long in the galley, however, soon returning with a graceful saunter as the floating hover-tray followed close behind. The scent wafting from the dishes was rich in flavour, the spiciness quite unmistakable already.

“And here are your starters,” Huyo said, putting the dishes on the table. Then, quite discreetly, she left, seeing that Krysia and James were quite enjoying each other’s company.

As the food was set down on the table Krysia's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree the food looked and smelt delicious! Taking a small bite she was soon tucking into more. She could see why the restaurant was so popular, "This is... amazing!"

Smith smiled and started eating as well, “This recipe is amazing, of course I have an amazing woman to enjoy it with.

Krysia couldn't help but smile, any compliment from James made her feel amazing. "Did I tell you I had a talk with the Captain... well it was more like the Captain had a talk with me"

Taking another bite of food James nodded, “I thought he might do that, did the conversation turn out ok, or is their anything’s night I need to be concerned about.”

"He was concerned about you & us" she took another bite of her food waiting until she'd savoured every last bit that was in her mouth before continuing, "I reassured him that I don't intend to hurt you in any way, he's very protective of you."

James nodded, “I actually expected your brother would come and talk to me as well.” James looked down at his plate, “He’s been like that ever since I lost my family, for a while I was ready to set off on a destructive direction, but StarFleet forced me to take leave and get counseling. So once I was ready I decided to get posted to the Pandora.”

"He's a good friend James, I appreciate that." she smiled as Huyo joined them at the table.

Seeing that they had eagerly polished off their starters, Huyo swiftly and professionally replaced the empty dishes with full ones, smiling warmly the entire time. “How are you enjoying your meal, sweetie?” she asked Krysia. Huyo hadn’t met the beautiful human/Drax hybrid before, so she hoped to make a good first impression.

"It's absolutely wonderful" she smiled warmly at the Deltan woman.

Smith smiled up at the Huyo before returning his attention to Krysia, “So after dinner would like to join me back at my quarters."

"Are you kidding?" she grinned, "I wouldn't miss out on that, I think being alone in my quarters would be really lonely now."

“I feel the same way now, I hate going back to empty quarters now as well.” James reached over to hold her hand, “So we can either have desert here or take it back to my quarters.”

"Why don't we have desert back at yours" she smiled warmly.

Seeing where the conversation (and the two lovers) were going, Huyo couldn’t help but giggle, covering her mouth with a slender hand. She was more than a little tempted to offer to join them, but humans did tend to be more private in such matters than Deltans, Risians or Fesarians. Instead she offered, “Well, dears, I’ll just go pack up your desserts so you can take them to wherever you’re going.”

"Thank you Huyo" Krysia smiled at the Deltan.

Nodding to Huyo, James wrapped his arms around Krysia and headed back toward his quarters.

--- James' Quarters - A few minutes later ---

Krysia smiled as she walked into James' quarters, "I could get accustomed to coming home together" she smiled warmly.

James nodded, “I could too, I’m so happy you came into my life.” Leaning in James kissed her I think the deserts can wait. Taking Krysia by the hand they made their way to the bedroom.
