A month had passed since Louis had given Krysia the news that he suspected she was pregnant, not wanting to get James’ hopes up she’d kept it to herself until now. Louis hadn’t been sure whether or not she’d have morning sickness but the queasiness she was starting to feel was starting to point at the fact that she would. Waiting for James to come home from his shift Krysia motioned for him to join her on the sofa.

James moved over to where Krysia was sitting and sat next to her. James was a little puzzled and concerned as well “Is everything ok, are you feeling alright?”

"I’m okay" she smiled as she looked at James reaching out she took hold of his hand, "Lieutenant Louis came to see me a month ago with the results of some tests he ran, I didn’t want to tell you just incase the results were wrong but it has turned out that I'm.... having a baby!” she looked at James not sure what his reaction would be.

James heart felt like it had skipped a beat and it took a minute for it to register what she had said to him. James smiled, “a baby, wow!! we are going to be parents!” Smith had wanted this for a while and now he was going to be raising a child with a wonderful woman who he truly loved. James leaned in and kissed her “This is wonderful news.”

Krysia smiled & breathed a sigh of relief, she wasn’t sure if James would be happy about it not. “I’ve been having some dizzy spells & headaches lately so I thought I’d see someone about it, he’s also suggested I might get morning sickness too!” She shook her head then smiled happy that James was okay with the news.

James swooped her into his arms and kissed her, “I’m so excited, we now need to work on getting a nursery ready, and I’d advise you to start taking it easy, I don’t want you overdoing yourself. Smith looked away for a moment before looking back, “So, who’s going to talk to Nyx?"

“I guess we both should” she stood and moved to where she could see her reflection, “do you think I’ll look good with a bump?” She tugged on her uniform pulling it out to try & see how it would look.

James stood next to her while she was looking at her reflection, “You will look beautiful”

Krysia turned and smiled "I hope so!." she sat down as she felt light headed, "what do you think Nyx will say? After all you are his friend."

James watched as Krysia sat down before replying, “I think he will be happy for us. So much has gone on over it would be nice to have a baby around, of course, I wish your brother was here as well.” Smith wished he had more answers to what happened.

"I wish Owen was here too" she looked at the floor, "I miss him so much..." she offered a smile as she looked back at James "I've no doubt he would be giving me some big brother speech about this." Standing up she grabbed onto the nearest thing she could as the room spun. "Maybe that wasn't such a good idea...."

Smith grabbed her by the arm and helped her to the bed “Maybe you should take it easy for the next few days and have the doctor check you over, I’d hate to see you over do it.”

"I know you're right.." Krysia smiled as she lay her head down on the pillow, "...but I don't like to be a liability, we all have our duties to do & I won't be avoiding mine. This is probably just my body adjusting to the change of having a growing baby inside it" she grinned, "I'll stay here and rest, Louis did say he'd find me something if the dizziness became a problem but right now we need to conserve supplies.

James smiled, “We will get through these months together, I’m sure I can cook up some tea that can help you as well, and if it comes down to it I can request that you be given some light duty so your not overdoing it.”

She smiled as she looked at James "I can feel that you're excited about being a father but are you sure you're really okay with this? we didn't plan this & given our current situation..."

James smiled, “I’m nervous and excited, and given what has happened it would be good to have something else to look forward to.”

Krysia grinned, "I have the feeling this is going to be a fun few months once I get rid of my spinning head & any morning sickness” she sighed, "for once I'll do as I'm told and rest while I’ve got the chance. Do me a favour and wake me ready for my next shift if I fall asleep.”

Smith smiled, “Of course I can”

"Thank you James" she sat up long enough to kiss him gently on the cheek before lying down & closing her eyes.

Smith looked back as he left their quarters and smiled he would help her through knowing that it would pass in time. He also realized that the time to talk to Nyx was going to have to happen eventually.
