"I have a surprise for you!"

Mission: Death in Paradise
Location: USS Pandora, Intelligence Offices
Timeline: Before "A little sibling time"

With her surprise news from Aeryn, Krysia made her way to find James. She'd expected him to be aboard Paradise Station but was relieved to find he was still aboard the Pandora as it made it so much easier to find him. Making her way to the Intelligence section she looked around for him, calling him as she saw him.

James had been looking over a few reports in the Intell department when he heard his name being called. Looking up he smiled and made his way through those that were busy working. He could tell that she had something on her mind.

Looking around Krysia waved as she saw him smiling apologetically as she made her way past those who were busy working to reach him. "James am I glad I found you....I have something to tell you!" She pulled him across to a quieter corner before looking at him excitedly. "I had a call from Aeryn, long story short my initial scan wasn't clear so she ran another. It showed up something unexpected...." She paused for a moment. "James I'm having twins!!"

James thought he had been hearing things. Blinking a little as he looked back at her he said, “twins, is Aeryn sure?” Smiling he continued, “So the family we lost in the bubble is actually going to happen. This is great news!”. James embraced her as he gave her a kiss, tears were coming to his eyes he was so happy.

James asked, “Did Aeryn say how far along you are?”

"The Latest scan puts me at just about three months. It's kind of an estimation as to when I'll actually give birth, for Betazoids gestation is ten months and for Drax it's around eight to nine months, but it's changed things as I'm expecting twins anyway." She smiled excitedly as she gave James a big cuddle. "Aeryn seemed to think that everything will be okay, she just said not to worry and enjoy it!"

Smiling as he lead her to his office and sat with her on the couch. “I would recommend the closer you get to your due date you take it easy.” Laughing he said, “ Wow, Nyx is going to be surprised.”

"I managed to buy a few things while I was at the station but we'll need double that now!" She grinned excitedly. "It's a good job we've got bigger quarters we're going to need the room for all the things we're going to need."

“We are going to have fun redoing our quarters for twins, it’s like a dream come true, and I will do my best to keep you all safe.” The memories of his wife and daughter still fresh in his memory and his inability to save or protect those that were depending on him. He smiled a little at Krysia as he listened to her continue.

She looked around the intelligence office. "So how goes things here? I have to say I don't entirely feel comfortable on the station. On the surface it seems okay but I just get the feeling that there's more to it than we're seeing, a darker element of sorts. I could be wrong after all Katya seems honest enough she's given me no reason to doubt her but...." She shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe I'm just being over cautious, I do have two little lives in here to protect now." She put her hand on her stomach.

Nodding James said, “I agree, Paradise is hiding something and I don’t trust Katya, I haven’t been down to the station yet, but I think it’s time to do a little exploring maybe under the guise of a traveler looking for some relaxation.” James looked around the room a bit, “they may not pay any attention to a traveler like they would a Starfleet Officer, what do you think.”

"I think you're right but I don't like the idea of you going on your own. I wish I could go with you but I'm too well known to Katya's people on the station now." She looked decidedly worried. "I know you know your job James but, if the Captain approves your idea, promise me you'll be careful. I don't want to lose you." She wouts have kissed him but it didn't seem appropriate in the open area of the intelligence section where they were standing, they had to keep a certain professionalism during working hours.

James smiled, “I’ll be careful if the Captain approves my request. I’m curious what their really up to.”

"I'd best be getting back to work." She smiled albeit still a little unsettled at his idea. "I'll see you later."

Nodding James replies, “I’ll see you later, and please take it easy.” He smiled as she left his section. He still didn’t know where he would be if she hadn’t come into his life. Having a family was something he was going to make the most of. Looking around at those that were busy at their posts. He returned to reading the reports coming in from the various departments trying to find something about this station and those that ran it.
