Mission: Death in Paradise
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Upon return from Carwennan Station

Krysia arrived at Sickbay, having awoken with a headache the last few days and being pregnant she wanted to make sure everything was alright. She was three quarters of the way through her pregnancy and she didn't want anything to go wrong now. Her greatest fear was that something would go wrong the way it did in the bubble universe, even if that was some generated dream. Walking into Sickbay she looked around for Alexandra.

"Aeryn, did you see that report on..." Alexandra just walked out her office, but suddenly stopped when she saw the entrance door sliding open, and the ship's counselor walking in. It wasn't much of a busy day, and she honestly felt that Kyrsia's presence would be a fine distraction from all those medical reports she had to go through. "Krysia! Hello!"

"Hi Alexandra" Krysia smiled warmly. "Hope I'm not interrupting your workload? I've been getting a lot of headaches lately and I'm not convinced it's to do with my abilities, so I thought I'd come and see what you think."

"No, no. Not at all." the doctor shook her head with a smile. "In fact, you just made me feel useful for the first time today." she laughed. "Please, take a 'seat'." she indicated the nearest biobed.

Krys grinned as she walked over to the biobed and gently sat down. Getting on and off a slightly high biobed was difficult when you were carrying around the amount of weight Krysia was carrying around. "I haven't said anything to James, I didn't want to worry him unnecessarily. If it turns out there's anything to worry about then I'll tell him!"

"Okay, okay." Alex quickly reacted, trying to destroy any more worries. "I'm a hundred-percent sure there is nothing wrong. Trust me." she said on an assuring tone. "But, we're here to find that out." she added, grabbing a tricorder.

“Sorry! I didn’t mean to sound negative. You’ve looked after me all these months and I have faith you’re doing a grand job.” Krys grinned. “It’s just me being a worrier and I know I shouldn’t.”

"Thanks." the doctor grinned. "But it has nothing to do with me. Believe me, you're perfectly healthy. And your little rascals too." she smiled, as she hovered over Krysia's belly with the tricorder. "It's perfectly okay to worry. Maternity is a difficult period in many sense. But you should concentrate on the good things, and expect a positive outcome, which is surely the most plausible one. But you're the counselor, I guess you know this better than I do."

"I should shouldn't I?" Krysia grinned. "I'm still getting used to being a Counsellor again, I used to be Chief Ops Officer before the change around of positions aboard ship. Aeryn was the Counsellor then." She tried to get a look at Alexandra's readings. "So what do the readouts say? Am I just crazy or is there a reason for my headaches?"

"No, you're not crazy." Alex smiled, as she examined her patient. "But it's nothing to worry about." she quickly added. "It seems, your increased stress level and hormonal changes, which come with your pregnancy, affect your metal abilities somehow, causing you all these headaches."

Krysia sighed yet smiled. "Okay so I'm not crazy but I was wrong my abilities not being the cause." She nodded her head. "So the question is where do we go from here? I know very little about pregnancy where my people are concerned only what my mother told me from when she was carrying me. I'm guessing our twins are two thirds human and a third Drax? considering I'm half and half plus James is Human." She looked at Alexandra and grinned. "Sorry I'm babbling again!!"

"No, no, no..." the doctor quickly disrupted her patient's line of thought before she'd end up worrying herself to death. "As I said, it's nothing to worry about." she assured her. "I'm gonna prescribe you lexorin. It should destroy the headaches in a matter of days." she explained. "If that's not successful, given your unique physiology, we try something else."

Krys nodded. "Any particular instructions for taking the lexorin?"

"Three times a day, one injection each time." Alex replied, and stepped away to pick up the medicine and a hypospray. "So... does the aerobics routine I showed you work?"

"It certainly does!" Krys nodded. "I've been doing regular morning and evening exercise. Just as much as I could manage comfortably. I've been getting a few...I think you call them Braxton Hicks?" She looked at Alexandra to see if she was correct.

"Yes, yes. That's the correct term." the doctor nodded. "How often do you get the contraction?"

"It's not a regular thing" She stopped to think about it. "I'd put it down to times when I've been up on my feet a lot, maybe I'm just not resting as often as I should?"

"Okay, don't worry." Alex again tried to calm her patient down. "It's a regular thing. Think of it like the dress rehearsal for the 'real thing'." she explained. "However, of course, there are usually phyiscal causes behind it. Like not resting enough. But it's nothing to worry about, really."

Krysia smiled. “I was planning on starting my maternity leave in a few weeks, is that still going to be okay? I’ll still be aboard the ship but not doing my usual workload. Not that I’m doing a full workload anyway, I dropped my hours down so I wasn’t overdoing it.”

"Sure. That's reasonable." the doctor nodded. "And again... don't worry." she smiled.

"I'll do my best!" Krysia grinned. "I promise I'm not suddenly going to turn into a hypochondriac overnight that's permanently in Sickbay! I appreciate your help and your patience.”

"Hey, don't worry." Alex calmed her down. "You're not an awful hypochondriac, and you know it. You'll be fine, trust me." she smiled. "And no worries. It's my job."

“A job that you’re brilliant at!” Krys grinned as she got to her feet ready to leave.

"Just trying to do my best." the doctor shrugged. "Ain't we all?" she smiled. "Try to follow my advice, don't overwork yourself, and if the lexorin won't work, just visit me."

Krysia nodded. “I will. Thanks again Alexandra.” With that she headed on her way.
