[Personal Log - Lieutenant Yasmin Cortez]
[Location - USS Palatine]
[Date - Belated]

I’m sure everyone has the same feeling when first seeing their new ship - the awe of the occasion and today is no different. I got my first glance of the Pandora from the outside. She is a beauty by all accounts and dare say has an aura when standing tall among the stars around it. Some would compare previous ships they served on to what lies before them in this position, but I chose to be open minded and forward thinking. Every ship is different and the sight of Pandora out the Palatine window brings me equal measures of excitement and anxiety. I am excited for the challenge that Pandora will bring, but equally have butterflies in my stomach at joining a crew that has been in deep space for as long as the reports have suggested. Will I fit the mold? I admit that I go towards this new adventure with an open mind on both the ship and crew and on this first day, pledge to give my best.

END LOG.
