Having finished helping out at Ops Krysia returned to her guest quarters, she had to admit it was nice having a little free time to do what she wanted to do. She hadn't been sitting down for long when the computer alerted her to an incoming personal call, she sat in front of the screen and tapped it surprised to see her mother staring back at her.

"Mum!" she smiled, "I wasn't expecting to hear from you."

"Well I thought I'd contact you after hearing about your promotion" she smiled, "Congratulations"

"Thanks mum" Krysia grinned, "my first position as Chief Operations officer but it'll be nice to work with Owen again."

"I take it you still plan on telling him about who you really are?" Her mother looked at her in the serious way she always looked when discussing something important.

"I do!" Krysia nodded, "Owen deserves to know that he has another sister even if it's just a half-sister, if he doesn't want anything to do with me afterwards then so be it, at least he'll know."

"If that's what you want Krysia" her mother nodded.

"It is.." she nodded.

"And your... abilities?, any problems?" Krysia's mother looked at her as though trying to gauge Krysia's response via subspace.

"Fine... at least no major problems" Krysia smiled, "minor headaches if I let my guard down but so far so good."

Her mother nodded, she had always been worried about Krysia leaving her home world.

"Just remember we're here if you need any help"

"Always" Krysia nodded, "empathy & telepathy aren't unknown here there are plenty of species that have abilities and Betazoids are very similar to us although they don't have telekinesis, but then neither do I... yet."

"You will eventually" her mother smiled, "it takes practice, lots & lots of practice."

Krysia nodded and smiled, "Thanks mum"

Her mother nodded and smiled, "I'm afraid I have to go I have a conference to attend shortly."

"That's okay" Krysia nodded, "I plan on getting some rest while I've got the chance. Thanks for calling."

"Take care Krysia and remember we love you."

"You too mum, I love you too." Krysia tapped the screen, sitting back in her chair she massaged her temples, getting up she headed for the bedroom to get what rest she could.
