Aeryn walked into sickbay PADD in hand looking for Doctor Brookes walking to his office she smiled as she stood in the doorway. "Do you have a moment Doctor?"
"What is it?" He questioned, eating an apple and chewing it crunching it rather loudly and oh so annoyingly. "How can I help?" He turned to see Aeryn. The Counselor.
"I have a patient that I have concerns about, I have some records I need you to look over & I need your opinion." she handed Tyson the PADD containing the records of all the self treatment of injuries that Katniss had provided her with. "The patient is medically qualified and has been self treating injuries when they've occurred."
"Well I would tell this theoretical client of mine to immediately stop being a stubborn, please come in to the Pandora's medical bay. It is completely free for everyone.. We need good and healthy team members on board the USS Pandora, headed by Captain Nicholas Temple." He states passionate about the subject.
"I have the patient's permission to show you and get your permission but not to give a name" she took a seat opposite Tyson, "my patient suffered a traumatic loss followed by break up of a relationship and as a result is now suffering debilitating nightmares and has also felt the need to indulge in dangerous pass times without holodeck safeties hence the listed injuries."
That's a tough situation. Tyson nodded, as he thought thorough. Similar somewhat he had lost his own high school sweetheart. Damn. He was going to marry her. Since then it has been 10 years of not even knowing who he was, Tyson.
"I've suggested directed dreaming for the nightmares and further counselling sessions to help but I'd like your medical opinion on things" she leaned back in the chair and looked at Tyson.
"Medically we take it one step at a time." He looked at his lcd digital chronograph wristwatch. "Sometimes you just have to keep open to options, this is a psychological turn medical problem case. A severe case of mental fatigue on the body, in some cases it is associated as PTSD. She must learn with you Dr. Jameson to attempt to psychologically address these issues, and in a minimal invasive method... Psychotherapeutics, and Psychotherapy through you Dr. Jameson,"
Aeryn nodded, “I appreciate your input, my concern was & is that if the behaviour of these trips to the Holodeck continues there may come a time when my patient doesn’t have the luxury of sorting their own wounds & ends up either seriously wounded or dead because no one knows what’s happened.”
"Of course, I agree."
“I hope it won’t come to having to institute any drastic measures so far there’s no sign that it would be required & I’m hopping it’ll stay that way.” She leant back in her chair, she wanted to be able to mention Katniss by name but Katniss had forbidden her to do so. “I wish I could name names but my patient has stated an unwillingness to be named.”
"Well you don’t want to have to use a heavy hand, even though the situation is working with someone who needs help from a Counsellor as well." Brookes frowned.
Aeryn nodded to the PADD she’d handed to Brookes, “Looking at the file are you happy that the injuries listed were treated appropriately?”
"I am not happy at all." He looked at the pad and the indication, and drug used for each injury. "If I were in med school again, I'd have the student re-do it all, but I am not and this is an.... interesting situation." He looked at Aeryn. "I need you to ensure that you will have this patient of yours see me the next time there is an injury involved. No penalty, I am a doctor, not the grim reaper." He did not understand patients fear of medicine at times.
She nodded, “Okay I’ll pass along your message, thanks for your time Doctor” she smiled as she stood to leave, “If I should need to consult you again I’ll give you a call.”
He kept his hands open and gestured. "Medical Bay is always open." He offered a slight nod and smirk.
