It had been a long day trying to figure out what had happened to the bridge crew and Aeryn didn't feel much further forward than she had when events started, she'd been back to sickbay on & off throughout as requested by Tyson but had set off back to work as soon as she could afterwards and now she was worn out. She was resting with her feet up when the door chime rang, "Come in"

"Aeryn," He walked in with something on his mind.

Aeryn smiled as Tyson walked in "Tyson..." she motioned for him to join her on the sofa, "I'm sorry if I've been awkward today, I could sense there was something wrong & I just needed to help..."

"Aeryn. What happened back in medical today." He held his hands freeing a somewhat exasperation, even for the cool, calm, collected Brookes. "What happened. Questioning my decision asserting that I sign you off to duties. When you are recovering."

He laughed to his self thinking it through. "And in front of the staff and patients, come on Aeryn." He looked at her. He was dissapointed, but it still did not change the way he had felt about her.

Aeryn sat quiet for a moment she knew he was right & it hadn't been fair how she'd treated him. "You're right... I was wrong to ask you to release me that way" she sighed, "I won't do it again & if you want me back in sickbay I'll be there."

He thought through her appology. "Look." He gave a slight smile at Aeryn. "I know you want to help. Your enthusiasm for everyone is what I like about you." He rubbed his hands and fingers together sitting on the sofa beside her. "For now, why don't I let you get your self some sleep, in your quarters. And a stop in sick bay early in the morning. I want to see that cast off once you are healed, which isn't now."

"Agreed" Aeryn smiled warmly, "I won't put you in an awkward position again I promise" she moved to lay her head on his shoulder, "I'm not the best of patients I hate not being able to do what I want to do but..." she grinned "I do have you there and that gives me a reason to want to hang around."

Tyson enjoyed sitting there being able to have Aeryn lean on him. She had a way of being able to comfort someone.

You don't have to go yet do you?" She looked up at Tyson "as much as I'd love to tempt you to stay the night it's not like I can do anything but at least I can enjoy your company."

She absent mindedly ran her fingers over the old Borg implant above her ear and massaged the back of her neck.

"Neck sore?"

"Sorry..." she smiled, "it's just my implants they irritate every now and again" she lifted the hair at the back of her neck, "I have them in my spine & brain stem as well as the one just above my ear. I have active nanites that have been reprogrammed to maintain the implants"

Tyson had taken in the information. The complete history of the borg collective and humans has been a long and bloody one. However, then there was Aeryn, he had only remembered it when he witnessed the node behind the back of Aeryn's ear.

"That is fascinating." He eyed the peice. He had scanned her many times before and noticed the artificial metabolism of the nanites working in her body, a somewhat identifiable algorithm. It would be trouble to remove them, let alone if Aeryn did not want them removed. It was a large part of her history, beyond this medical background he had limited data. Yes, medical had its privileges. "Can you feel the bio implants function still within your body?"

Aeryn paused, "Sometimes... if I chose to use them I could enhance my abilities somewhat but it carries risks. The nanites are kept at a level that maintains my implants if I was to take advantage of using them a lot then I'd risk triggering their old programming and I'd rather not start growing any new implants."

Tyson nodded slowly. He said to Aeryn confident enough and cool enough from within, oozing of medical authority. "I think there is nothing to worry about."

"For me they’re just a reminder of a past I’d rather didn’t happen” the smile faded from her face, “I get to remember the faces of all the people that were assimilated during my time as a Borg, for a long time I blamed myself before I realised it wasn’t but it doesn’t make it any easier."

She looked at Tyson her smile returning, “Sorry I’m just tired & that makes me emotional..” she shook her head, “if you want to learn more about my implants then maybe I can come by sickbay when you’re not busy and you can do some scans or whatever...”

He let his arm run downward the side of her and held Aeryn close to him. He was letting her speak. Sometimes the Doctor had to council the Counsellor. "You need sleep." Tyson got up and replicated a warm blanket from Aeryn's computer, and he helped her to Aeryn's bed.

Aeryn smiled as she settled onto the bed, "Will you stay for a little while? as much as I'd like to make love to you I'm not sure how we'd manage with me & my arm" she grinned, "but I'll settle for just being warm beside you."

Tyson chuckled looking at Aeryn's forearm and brace around it. Even in the 24th century technology still was cumbersome.

"I'd really, really enjoy that..." He shook his head, his hazel eyes stared back at Aeryn's reddish brown hair. He was cool and collected. He wasn't an animal, however he was constrained with thoughts running wild. He shook his head, opening his medical kit at his side. "I am going to give you a dose of chromaline, it will help up with your joint stiffness and some benthol zidrine. The benthol zidrine will help your metabolism t-cell production." He warmly rubbed the top of Aeryns hand and then up and down calmly relaxing her.

"Just get me fixed up & the sooner the better!" she smiled she had to admit he was making her feel relaxed, " you know that's something you can do for me sometime a massage... you certainly seem to be good at it."

He laughed. "I am certified by the federation medical council in deep tissue massage. I think I definately can fit you in."

Aeryn couldn't help but laugh with him.
