As rebellions go, those who made up the “Splinter group” within the crew were hardly living up to their image. It was less of a violent uprising and more of a friendly sit-in. Their protests so far consisted of abandoning their uniforms and calling each other by their first names. Of course they had also rejected the idea of structured command and the Captain’s orders to find a way out of the bubble universe in favour of creating a community of survivors focused on making their lives bearable. Less “Viva La Revolution” and more “Viva La Relaxation”.

For their disobedience, the Splinter group had been demoted, removed from their positions, and restricted to the crew quarters on the Starboard side of Deck 2. They still maintained the required Bridge shifts and other patrols as well. Most of their time was spent creating a community and establishing a manageable existence within this horrible situation as best they could.

To that end, Sasha had become one of the most active organisers in the Splinter group, along with Krysia and James. They were always checking on their people, ensuring there was enough food going around, and that everyone was taken care of. Sasha had established an Activity Center in one of the conference rooms where folks could gather for discussions, games, book readings, and ensuring they were kept informed of latest updates on the shrinking bubble universe. This helped to create a very relaxed, Bohemian vibe that had become the true image of the Splinter crew.

Sasha was busy restocking the book shelves in the Activity Center with a quiet satisfaction. She was so caught up in her work that she almost didn’t hear at first when someone approached to speak with her.

"Sasha" Krysia smiled as she walked over carrying baby Aurora who was sleeping quietly wrapped in her blanket, "how's everything going? You spend more time out and about with everyone than I do these days" she smiled as she looked at Aurora, "are they all coping?"

“Pretty well, surprisingly.” Sasha replied with a smile. “Though we’re running out of books to read. I think I’ve read Arthur Conan Doyle three times already.” She shrugged her shoulders and stood, leaning in to look at baby Aurora. “But morale is good. I think the Charades tournament is going to spark of bit of fun tonight.”

"I'm quite looking forward to seeing that one myself if a certain little one here..." she grinned, "..will let me."

Sasha beamed at the baby girl, “Ohh little one is just used to getting all the attention.” She stayed smiling at the baby for a few moments before looking back to Krysia. “I heard the milk rations were getting low.” She said, trying not to get too heavy in tone.

"A little" Krysia nodded, "I've done my best to try and breast feed her as much as I can but there's only so much my body can do under these circumstances." She looked at Aurora, "I can manage for now."

James had just returned from his bridge shift and was exhausted, he looked around at the group and managed a smile. Life for them was as normal as it could get. Walking over to Krysia and Aurura he gave Krysia a kiss, then picked up Aurura and smiled. “Anything exciting happen while I was away.”

"Just the usual my love” Krysia smiled “I was just saying to Sasha that I can manage with the low milk rations we could try introducing more in the way of solid foods the ration packs do mush up quite nicely if required." she looked around, "does everyone else have enough to eat?"

“We’re doing okay, trying to make things work.” Sasha replied with a small shrug. “I’m still working on the replicators but I haven’t made any significant break throughs. All I can get is a chicken broth that tastes a bit funny.”

Krysia nodded, “I guess even something that tastes wierd is better than nothing at all as long as it doesn’t make anybody sick. Maybe one of the group can help with that it would give them something to think about?”

"I'll try." Sasha replied affirmatively. She took a second to look over the tired faces of the new parents and gave a sympathetic grimace. "You both look exhausted. Did you want me to babysit the little one for a while so you can get some sleep?"

Krysia looked at James then back at Sasha, “That would be... amazing!” she smiled warmly, “I don’t think I’ve had a good night’s sleep in forever!! You don’t realise how hard it’s going to be as a parent until it happens” she smiled warmly at Sasha, “James has been dong his best to try and let me get what rest I need but he needs a good rest as much as I do.”

"Absolutely." Sasha agreed, as she shifted a little closer to look at baby Aurora. Approaching a newborn baby was not unlike trying to defuse a tiny bomb; the slightest incorrect movement could send the child exploding into a fit of tears. Luckily it seemed Aurora was happy to be handed over at the moment. "Perhaps I could teach her some Trill nursery rhymes?"

“That could be a great idea” Krysia smiled warmly. “Are you sure you’ll be alright?”

"You folks get some sleep." Sasha replied with a nod. "I'll come find you if I need anything."

Krysia looked to James as she took his hand before the two of them left for their quarters.
