Walking along the corridor with James it was only after they reached their quarters that Krysia let her emotions show, her hands were shaking as she cradled Aurora and she was a whisker away from crying. “I thought for a minute... I was going to end up having to fight Shae” she looked at James. “Does she really hate me that much? she may not be herself but those feelings had to be there all along just waiting for the trigger to release them.”

“She’s dealing with her own grief of not having their child with them, imagine if Aurora was separated from us how would you react.”

She gently put Aurora down in her crib to sleep, her shaking hands had nowhere to hide now she wasn’t holding her daughter, she felt like she wanted to scream or cry or maybe both. She was breathing rapidly in more of a worked up panic as she lay her head on James for a cuddle, the tears eventually finding their release on his chest as she finally broke down.

Holding her right and letting her cry James said, “just give her some time, she’ll come around eventually. We all have to coexist together for now and we can’t keep avoiding each other.”

Krysia wiped her eyes as she finished letting go of what had been stirring inside her "I know we can't avoid each other but I... I don't know how to act around Shae around now. I know she wasn't herself and that she wouldn't normally act like that but just the thought of being anywhere near her scares me James."

“I understand how you feel, I’m sure Nyx will keep a handle on her and order her to seek medical attention and even maybe keep her confined to her room until it passes.”

She looked at Aurora who was still sleeping peacefully, "I understand how she must be feeling if I was seperated from Aurora..." she took a deep calming breath, "I'd go crazy if I lost her."

“I would go crazy if ai lost either of you.” Looking down at the floor he continued, “ I’ve already lost one family I don’t want to lose another.”

"Maybe once this has all blown over we'll be able to patch things up" she offered a brief smile, "we have to work together so we at least have to be civil to one another."

“I agree, give it a few days then we can both approach her together, and promise me that when the time comes to talk to her that you will not go alone.”

Krysia nodded “Thank you James, I promise you that no matter what our time Here brings I’ll always be here with you.”

Holding he close and kissing her James replied, “ And I’ll always be here with you.”

“Have you thought about our future James? what it’ll be like here?” She sat looking at him, “raising Aurora here in this ship, such as it is. I always imagined us getting engaged and married before we had children.” she smiled. “Maybe if a way is found to sort the food problem we could do that & maybe have another baby?”

“I’d like that, hopefully there will be a solution found for the shortage in food, however, until then let do our part to ensure everyone has what they need.”

Krysia nodded "Of course I'll help in whatever way I can. I guess for now we carry on as best as we can & hope things sort themselves out."

She lay her head back on James chest but she couldn't help but wonder how she'd feel around Shae from now on.
