Mission Summary
Once the Pandora arrived at Carnwennan Station and received new crew, the crew were surprisingly approached by a Talarian Ambassador. Sevros revealed that his ship had gone missing while investigating a disturbance on the Talarian border, and the Pandora was requested to investigate. It quickly became clear that not all was as it appeared, as the crew discovered the Talarians had in fact been spying on the Tzenkethi and Sevros' ship was not where he claimed it would be. After following a damaged and erratic warp trail, the Pandora finds the Talarian ship within Tzenkethi territory - badly damaged and the crew murdered. Sevros is sent into deep mourning as the news of his crew's death hits.
Meanwhile, the USS Palatine finally reunites with the Pandora, delivering more crew and passengers via a shuttle. However, while an Away Team is investigating the Talarian vessel, and the shuttle is in the middle of its journey to the Pandora, three Tzenkethi Cruises arrive and immediately attack the Starfleet vessels. The shuttle is forced to make a rough landing into the shuttle bay, while the Pandora and Palatine coordinate together to defend against the Tzenkethi attacks. After the ships almost force their enemy cruiser's destruction, the Tzenkethi agree to a cease fire. Both sides agree to allow the Pandora just one hour to find the answer to this mystery.
Lieutenants Brennan and Smith discover that while the Talarians did have an Intelligence Beacon, it had actually malfunctioned and travelled into Tzenkethi space. The Talarians were forced to chase after it to recover the drone and avoid a war, however the Tzenkethi found them first, and attack what they perceived to be intruders in their territory. The Pandora presents their findings to the Tzenkethi, who begrudgingly admit to having acted aggressively against the Talarians, though maintain it was their right to do so. As the Captain believes there is no further need for conflict, he attempts to leave the area to deliver the deceased Talarian crew to their home. However, the Tzenkethi bicker over whether to destroy the Starfleet vessels as well, forcing the Pandora to destroy the Talarian vessel and escape.
The Ambassador Sevros confirms the theory concluded by the Pandora crew, and thanks them for retrieving his deceased comrades. In response, he agrees to allow the Pandora to travel within Talarian space through the Carnwennan Corridor, so we will have no further conflicts on our way through into the Inconnu Expanse.
