Krysia stood in the waiting room of the Counselor's offices this was the first time ever that she’d dreaded talking to a Counselor but if she wanted to return to duty she had no choice in the matter it had to be done. She looked up as Aeryn’s door slid open and she motioned for Krysia to join her. Walking inside Krysia took a seat on the nearest sofa.

“Can I get you a drink of anything?” Aeryn smiled warmly although Krysia could sense a certain nervousness coming from her too.

“No thank you” Krysia smiled trying not to take any notice of the extra implants Aeryn seemed to have as they were no doubt what was making her feel nervous.

“So how are you Krysia?” Aeryn smiled as she looked at Krysia, “I can’t begin to imagine what you all must have been through. It’s unheard of that you all seem to share the same memories of events and I’ve no doubt Starfleet will want further research into that but for now all I’m interested in is you. I’ve heard that you mentioned children?”

Krysia nodded fiddling nervously with her hands “We had a daughter Aurora, our son Nick we named him in rememberance of the Captain after he...died & then in later years Aurora gave birth to a daughter Samantha.” she looked at Aeryn, “It was all so real Aeryn! we lived our lives in that bubble, through trauma and pain, the good times and the really bad but some of us made it. There were losses...Madeline, Shae & Cailus’ daughter, the Captain when he was....murdered, Fick & so many more.”

Aeryn nodded, “I can’t pretend to understand it all Krysia but it was real for all of you and the fact that you still remember it so clearly...” she could see tears welling up in Krysia’s eyes so she passed her some tissues.

“I remember what it felt like to give birth to my children and yet my medical scans showed no sign that I’d ever given birth” She sighed, “I remember the pain so explain that to me!” she took a breath and looked apologetically at Aeryn, “I want my children & granddaughter back Aeryn!”

“I know you do” Aeryn placed her hand on Krysia’s offering support. “From what we can tell it was all just a shared illusion, but whatever part that illusion played it was your mind that created your children who’s to say that those children won’t exist again for you. You have James...” she motioned to Krysia’s engagement ring, “Congratulations by the way...”

Krysia smiled as she looked at the ring he’d given her. “It’s spooky to think that I’m the recreation of James’ dead wife, this used to be her ring and it fits me perfectly. It’s like we were meant to be together” she looked back at Aeryn, “I want to be the mother I was in that bubble, to give James his daughter & son back again he’s lost enough and I know this is hurting him more than it’s hurting me losing more children when he already lost his wife & daughter before.”

“Don’t worry about it now” Aeryn smiled, “I have to speak with James yet but he has your love & support and you have his and that’s what’s important.”

Krysia dabbed her eyes she wanted to shout and scream but she knew it wouldn’t & couldn’t change anything.

“If you’re up to it I’ll sign you off as fit for duty but I want you to start off lightly okay and not for a couple of days, I want you to rest before you start okay?” She smiled, “If I find you working silly hours or not taking your breaks I’ll remove you from duty again so be warned I’ll be watching” she grinned.

“I won’t” Krysia smiled a little as she stood to leave, “Thank you Aeryn if I need you...”

“I’m available anytime” Aeryn smiled warmly, “just call.”

Krysia nodded and left the office leaving Aeryn to write up her notes. Now all she had to do was get used to the idea of settling back into her duties in a couple of days time.
