Aeryn was sitting in her quarters legs pulled up in front of her with her head on her knees, Tyson had given her the news that he’d been offered a position he’d been wanting for some time and even though he’d promised to keep in touch with her she had a feeling that their relationship was just about to be waved goodbye to. She raised her head a little as the door chime rang calling whoever it was to enter, offering a brief smile as Mindo came in the door. “Hello Mindo.”

The Chief Engineer looked disheveled as he stepped into the room. He stopped mid-step when he noticed Aeryn's position on her couch. He'd come for a bit of counseling, but was now having second thoughts. Maybe it was too soon. "I, er," he stammered. "I could come back later, if this is a bad time..."

“No it’s okay” Aeryn offered a smile and sat properly, “Come on in & make yourself comfortable Mindo, you look about how I feel” She motioned for him to sit down. “I was just...wallowing in a little self pity I guess” she shrugged her shoulders, “I guess you heard Tyson is leaving?”

"I heard," said Mindo, hopping up onto a chair. "You and he were close, yes?"

"You could say that" the momentary smile on her face said it all before she lost it again. "He's leaving & chances are I'll never see him again."

Mindo nodded, thinking of friends and lovers left behind from reassignments. "I know what that's like," he said. "It's hard to maintain relationships when one of you is on the other side of the quadrant. I have plenty old friends I'll probably never see again."

“If I was a drinker I’d be drowning my sorrows in a nice glass of something as it is it tends to go straight to my head!” She grinned, “It’s strange, here we are both stuck here feeling sorry for ourselves” she flicked her hair over her shoulder out of the way. “Would you...take a look at something for me?” She removed the cardigan she was wearing and showed him her extra implants on her arms “The energy I felt in the buffer shut down my implants & when Tyson deactivated them the nanites made these new implants. I’d like to get them removed at some point being an engineer you probably know about these implants do you think they’d be easily removed? There’s one or two on my neck and upper chest too.”

Mindo sat forward to see the implants on her arm. After looking for a moment, he said, "If you come down to Engineering I'm sure we could do something about that. We'd also need someone from medical to monitor the process as well. You can't just remove Borg implants. But I'm sure you already know that."

Aeryn nodded. "Yes I do I thought Tyson was going to be here to remove them for me but obviously he's not now." she sighed. "At least I know I'm in safe hands with you."

He sat back and sighed. "I realize that those in the alternate realm are probably more greatly affected by this entire incident, but while they were missing I've hardly had any time to rest."

“I can imagine” Aeryn nodded, “It was a difficult time while the bridge crew were missing and I’ve no doubt I’ll have plenty of Counselling sessions to go through. Have you had any sleep? You do look tired perhaps you just need to let your hair down for a bit, although I could probably say the same for myself” she grinned.

Mindo smiled a little. "I've had about four hours of sleep in the past two and a half days. I've had a few times where I had an hour or two to kill, but I chose not to go to my quarters. Mostly took that time to eat and regroup. With the Captain gone, Commander Nash and I were in command of the whole ship. So when I wasn't in Engineering, I was getting progress reports from all departments and working with Nash on the Bridge."

“I was here too remember?” she smiled. She placed her hand on his arm as she reminded him before taking it away again. “There’s a bed right here if you need to sleep...” she paused realising how bad that sounded, “Sorry....I didn’t mean that to sound like....well like I was suggesting....anything” she shook her head as she blushed.

Mindo smiled at the suggestion. "I understand what you meant. Truth be told I'm not entirely sure I'm awake enough for... 'anything,'" he said with a laugh.

"I'm not surprised with the lack of sleep you've had" Aeryn grinned.

"I think I'll go get some sleep," said Mindo, hopping off the couch. "How about we continue this tomorrow? We could get a drink at Little Caesar's, or the Box if you prefer..."

"Sure why not!" Aeryn grinned, "I guess I could do with drowning my sorrows a little as long as I don't over do it!"

"Perfect!" said Mindo, smiling as he got off the couch. "I'll see you tomorrow!"

"Mindo....before you go" she smiled warmly as she looked at him, "Last time we talked you were, shall we say...having problems? How are you getting on now? You do know that if you need to talk about anything you can always come and talk to me don't you?"

As Mindo got to the door he turned and nodded, saying simply, "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Sweet dreams Mindo" Aeryn smiled, "I'll see you tomorrow" she watched him go before deciding to head to bed and try to get some rest.
