Mission:
Death in Paradise
Location: Quarters of James and Krysia
Timeline: Evening of the murder
On
James yawned as he looked around, the office was quite except for a few personnel that had just come on duty. Looking at his computer he noticed that their hadn’t been much luck yet on deciphering more of the messages he had taken, but he knew that it was only a matter of time. Standing up he made his way toward the door before sighing and headed back toward his quarter.
James walked into their quarters and looked around, “Krysia, you home.” Looking in the bedroom he noticed that she hadn’t been here yet. Smiling a little he decided to go check her office, walking along the corridors to her office was quiet, as it should of been this time of night. Arriving at her office he entered and smiled when he saw her sleeping on the couch. She must of had a hard day on the planet, and he could understand why she was exhausted. Kneeling down he gently kissed her forehead “Krys, time to wake up.”
Krysia opened her eyes surprised to see James looking at her. "What?" She sat up and looked around. "What time is it? Did I over sleep?" She looked at the chrono on the wall and sighed. "I'm sorry! I meant to be home to get you something for dinner, I must have been more tired than I thought!!" She stood and straightened her uniform. "Let's go home."
James nodded as they made they way back to their quarters, as they walked he said, “Any more news about the station or the missing children?”
"Unfortunately not!" She sighed. "I spent nearly all day there and all I got was the run around from the shop owners! I can understand the children are afraid and the shop owners are protective but I you'd them I was only trying to help." She shook her head. "I thought going alone would help me to find them, that Perhaps they might trust me but no luck. How was your day?"
James sighed there was so much he couldn’t tell her, but he did his best to talk to her about something, “things went well with our visit on the ship, I was able to retrieve some encoded messages, but at this time it been classified as top secret by the captain and only a few people know what I’ve uncovered so far.” Smith looked at her as they approached their quarters, “promise you’ll be careful when you’re on the station, I don’t trust anyone right now on a Paradise, and things can go in the wrong direction fast.”
Walking into their quarters Krysia stopped to turn around and look at him as she wrapped her arms around his waist. “I’ll be careful I promise.” She lay her head against his chest as she cuddled him. “The shop owners over there are protecting the children, I can’t blame them for that but it’s making my task all the harder. I don’t trust the Paradise guards, something just seems....off about this place. To be honest I’ll be glad when we get the hell out of here!”
“I’ll be glad when we are out of here as well, maybe we can take our shore leave once this mission is over, it would be nice to have some relaxation.” James set his Padd down before following her into the bedroom. The last few hours were really bothering him, but he was hoping after a night of sleep he would be able to find more answers.
Walking into their bedroom Krysia undressed and slid out of her clothes before sliding under the bedclothes and waiting for James to join her.
James got out of his uniform as well and slid into bed next to her, their was still so much to do before the babies were born, putting her arms around her he held her close.
Cuddling up she lay her head gently on his chest. "This place scares me James, I won't be sorry to see the back of Paradise and get back to Federation space. I'm looking forward to going to see my father, Owen has already promised he'll take me to see him, maybe you could come along too?"
James smiled, “I would like to meet your father, and once we get done here I’ll request some leave from Nyx I’m sure he won’t mind if I took some time off.” Smith eyes glazed a little as he thought about the past a bit. The last time he had time to himself was when he was forced to take a leave of absence after the death of his family. He smiled as he looked at her laying next to him. “The quicker we get this mission done the better.”
Krysia nodded. “I know you’re not allowed to give me details on your work, and I’m not going to ask what’s going on but if there’s anything I can do to help just let me know.” She sighed. “I don’t normally get so bothered but with twins growing inside me I’m finding the urge to protect them and us a little overwhelming!”
Giving her a kiss James said, “I understand the urge to protect us and the babies, I’m feeling the same way. I don’t want to lose another family and I’m going to make sure you and the babies stay safe.” He pulled her closer to him.
“I think we both just need a good nights sleep tonight, clear our heads somewhat.” She pulled the cover around her and made herself more comfortable on James’ shoulder. “I love you, you know that.” She smiled as she looked at him before closing her eyes.
James smiled, “I love you too. Maybe we can find more answers tomorrow.” James asked for the lights to be turned off before closing his eyes as well, not knowing what was soon to be in store for them.
