Mission: Death in Paradise
Location: Counselor's Office
Timeline: Before "Calling It a night"

Krysia was napping on the couch in her office when the door chime sounded, at first her brain registered it in a dream before she realised it was actually the real door chime. Sensing her half brother’s presence she propped herself up on her elbows and called him to enter, spinning around to sit up as she did so.

Owen stepped into Krys's office after hearing her call enter and noticed her sat on the couch. "Hey Krys," he said as he walked in.

“Hey Owen” Krys smiled warmly. “What brings you to my office?”

Owen stood in just inside the doorway as he admitted his reason for visiting her. "This may sound weird but I feel like I'm after a reality check," he explained.

“Well I haven’t heard that one before” She motioned for him to sit down on the couch as she ran her hands through her hair and tidied it. “Sorry I was napping, hard day over at Paradise trying to locate the missing children! So this reality check?”

Owen sat down before he started explaining why he was there. "This may sound crazy but I've had a lot on lately that he kept me in the job so to speak," he started. "Being CO during the Indigo Sky encounter, recovering the crew back and now... I'm missing Janet... Its been weeks since I've heard anything from her and I'm concerned," he explained.

“Is there no way you can find out what’s happening with her? Is there No one in Starfleet who owes you a favour who could find out for you?” She looked at Owen concerned as she offered a sisterly hold and squeeze of his hand.

Owen shook his head in response to her question. "I thought of that one already," he admitted. "I've contacted Admiral Rendar, Vice Admiral Li and the Deputy Director at SCIS. I'm not getting anything back from any of them which very strange. I don’t get it."

It was clear to him that something was wrong with the whole situation but what was upsetting him was not knowing what was happening.

“Could it have something to do with our current situation? We are in a disputed area at the moment, maybe Starfleet is holding back on giving too much information until we’re back in Federation space?” She had to admit it was a long shot. “Is there anyone out there whose likely to want to keep you in the dark? Or anyone who has anything against you? Not that I want you to worry that anything has happened to Janet. It might be she just can’t call you right now.”

Owen nodded as a few ideas came to mind. "I know that Andrea Madison is on their radar but that shouldnt cause them to freeze me out. They know I've been keeping tabs on her movements," he explained.

Owen looked at Krys for a moment. "She tried to kill me as an agent of the Typhon Pact when I first came aboard .. Word is that shes signed up with the Alrakis Pact and local," he continued. "In the meantime, being here at Paradise Station isnt a great help but Starfleet knows where we are."

Krysia frowned. “Do you think she knows you’re here? Is there a way she’d know about me?” She was wondering if she needed to be wary of Madison herself.

"As far as I'm aware, she doesnt know your related to me, so you and the twins are safe. Leave Madison to me, shes my concern," Owen said in a serious tone. He then paused before refocusing on his main reason for being there.

"Right now, my focus is Janet and trying to find out where she is or whats going on with her. I'll find out where Janet is and when I do, I'm going to give her the biggest cuddle possible," he promised.

"When you've done that you can bring her to meet me!" Krys smiled as she looked at Owen. "Let me know when you know something okay?"

Owen smiled for the first time since he arrived. "Oh thats already on my to-do list," he promised. Owen leaned forward and gave her a gentle hug. "Thank you...sometimes its good to get your feelings out in the open."

"That's what I'm here for!" She grinned. "Both as your sister and as ships Counsellor." She hugged him back before letting him go.

Owen stood up before turning to look at her. "Get yourself some rest, you've been working hard lately. Remind me to treat you to breakfast sometime in the next few days, as my way of saying thank you," he offered.

"Oh I will" She smiled. "I plan on getting a few minutes before I catch up on my workload. You'd be surprised how comfy this couch can be. I'll see you later."

Watching her big brother go she smiled to herself before fluffing up a cushion and lying back down on the couch.
