A little together time

Mission: The Evils Within
Location: Intelligence Offices
Timeline: While Emilie was trapped in the lift

Krysia had finished off her latest set of psychological reviews and was taking some time to herself, being six months pregnant with twins was living up to her expectations her stomach looked more like seven months, her energy levels were more or less in the floor and even with the exercises Alexandra had been teaching her she still had a lot of back pain. Walking into the Intelligence offices she looked around for James hoping he didn't mind her popping by.

James finished up some of the reports that still needed to be sent to Star Fleet Intelligence. He had hoped that they would be on their way for some rest and relaxation, but command had other plans. James rubbed his head a bit in frustration he hated going into a area blind. James spotted Krysia looking for him and he smiled this was the distraction he needed. Getting up he smiled as he kissed her, “this is a nice surprise, what brings you down here.”

Krys smiled "To be honest...I needed the company! I know I've been busy with appointments this morning but having a stomach this size.." She motioned to her bump. "Is killing me! I've been doing my exercises and I still can't get comfortable!" She stopped talking and gave him an apologetic look. "Plus I...miss Owen and my dad."

James motioned to one of the couches he had in his office as he adjusted a few pillows to try and make her more comfortable. James sighed, “I’m glad you came down as well, I really needed a distraction, between this new mission and Nyx and Emily I’ve been a little stressed. Plus I want to make sure your takeing care of yourself.” James sat down as well, “I finally had a chance to take to Nyx”

"What did he have to say?" She looked at her husband curiously as she made herself as comfortable as she could be on the sofa.

“He’s understandably tired, he said that the baby had shifted position, and it still looks like their not ready to come out. Emilie saw the Doc to see if things could be helped along naturally.” Sighing James looked back at his wife, “I told him if they needed anything to ask us we would help them any way we can.”

"Of course!" Krys smiled warmly. "Alexandra won't let Emilie go too far over due, there's only so far you can go before it does more harm than good. I'm just hoping I don't go overdue when the time comes."

“I hope you don’t either, but if it happens you will be in good hands.” Replied James

"Promise me something James" Krys gave her husband a concerned look. "Promise me that no matter what you'll always come back to me! Call me silly and maybe it's just the pregnancy talking here, but I'm afraid of losing you."

Grabbing onto her hand James said, “I’ll always come back, I did however volunteer for the upcoming away mission, I feel that the Captain should not be down on a planet where he would make a great target or prisoner. We will all be careful.”

"Please be sure to be extra careful, I'll be here thinking of you and worrying myself silly!" She grinned before suddenly acting like she was in pain.

Startled James looked at Krysia, “Are you ok?”

"No! It's alright...it's not...not me!" She looked at James. "I think it's Emilie! It feels like...she's in labour!!" She moved to the sofa to sit down. "I can normally block out other people's pain but labour pains..." She shook her head. "Please tell me we have a spare inhibitor here somewhere!"

Nodding James quickly got the inhibitor, “I had the doctor provide me with one in case of emergencies now I’m glad I did.” Returning to the sofa he helped Krysia with the inhibitor and waited to see if it would help.

Krys breathed a sigh of relief as the inhibitor did its work. “That’s better, thank you!” She cuddled up as the input from her senses faded away. “I hate using inhibitors but there are times when it can’t be avoided.” She sighed. “I can’t sense the twins or you and I hate it!!”

James patted her hands, “It’s ok, the inhibitor is their to help when you need it.

“I know, doesn’t mean I have to like it!” Krys offered a brief smile as she relaxed herself against James’ chest to rest.

~ Sometime Later ~

Feeling rested after falling asleep Krysia smiled as she looked up at James. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to fall asleep. Guess I was more tired than I thought.”

Giving her a kiss James said, “Are you ok to go to sickbay and see how Emilie is doing.”

“Sure” Krys nodded. “Just let me brush my hair and freshen up okay? I’ll leave the inhibitor on until I’m sure Emilie isn’t in labour anymore!

James watched as she went to freshen up, standing up to stretch he hoped that Krys was going to be ok, he knew she hated the inhibitor, and he couldn’t blame her not being able to sense those that were close to her bothered her greatly. James waited until Krysia was ready smiling he took her by the arm as they walked out the door headed to sickbay.
