Mission: Shore Leave
Location: Deck 5 - Aeryn's Quarters
Timeline: Current

[ON]

Declan was nervous. He did his best not to show it. Celebrations were the last of his feelings right now. Despite what he had said to the Captain and Commander, he felt survivor's guilt—all those people. Roderick experienced PTSD nightmares and flashes almost every hour since. That fateful morning on Hesiod Green changed his life. It didn't end. It wouldn't end.

He was looking into his quarter's mirror. Declan had been offered a new start. He was beyond grateful. He owed the crew of Pandora his life. Roderick was given a chance to have a career once again, especially on a ship such as the Pandora. Declan professed ever since that meeting that he would not let them or the crew he was serving alongside down.

Roderick breathed outward, composing himself. "Get it together, Dec!" He spoke to nobody in the room. This was an excellent opportunity to sit in and be amongst the crew members. "A costume party." He chuckled. His first time meeting the crew, he was told to wear something, to join in. He was happy about it, but he wasn't enthralled either.

Perhaps the best part of the evening was able to see and talk to Aeryn once again. They had spoken earlier, and there was mention of the upcoming gathering, at the Pandora's Eclipse Bar. He was relieved and overjoyed that Lieutenant Jameson. Aeryn would accompany him.

[Deck 05] [Aeryn's Quarters]

Exiting the turbo lift at deck five, Roderick felt embarrassed. He had hoped he would run into the least amount of crewman along the way. Stopping outside of Aeryn's Quarter's, he extended his finger to ring her quarters.

Declan dressed in a classic and simple costume for the party. He had hoped Aeryn would like it. He was very interested in what she would be wearing.

Green fatigues, brown tee-shirt, shiny black boots, trooper items suited into his waist belt, and buckle. Declan greeted Aeryn with a camo helmet, and a fake WWII rifle slung around his left shoulder, downward. He was GI Joe.

Declan saluted as the door opened, standing tall.

Aeryn opened the door to find Declan stood at attention. “At ease soldier!” She grinned. “Don’t you just look handsome!” She stepped back and motioned him inside. “I had a feeling you’d drop by, I heard the Captain’s announcement about the costume party. I was just finishing off organising a costume.

"I had hoped you would be free to walk in with me. It will be weird, seeing everyone of the crew all in costume. Kind of takes the anxiousness out of a first time." Roderick said.

“Wait right here!” She grinned as she headed for the bedroom, it took a few minutes but she re-emerged in full Wonder Woman costume Gal Gadot style, mini skirt, boots and all. “So what do you think?” She did a little twirl to show off the costume.

Roderick couldn't help but chuckle. "That is awesome. I love the sword!" He let his eyes take in the incredible craftmanship. "Fits you perfectly too-" He winked.

"I think you will need an escort to help guard you from anything nefarious!" He tipped his helmet at her.

“My own personal guard, I like the sound of that.” Aeryn grinned. “I wonder what the others will turn up as?”

"All I know, is that this will be extremely interesting and fun." He nodded. "I'm ready when you are. M'Lady!" He gestured to her doorway. Declan was increasingly in the mood for some fun and.. well happiness. Something he was just beginning to be able to feel once again.

Aeryn grinned and nodded. “Let’s go and join the fun!”
