Mission: New Moon Rising
Location: Bridge

After his meeting with Commander Temple, Owen made his way back onto the Bridge where he decided to re-visit his Operations station and make sure that all was well. It had been several years since his service aboard the Luna Class starship, but Owen felt like he was home again.

He decided that he would run a sensor pallet diagnostic check before heading back down to his quarters to get his own belongings organised and get his quarters into some sort of organisation. As he inputted the commands into the familiar interface, Owen looked up for a second as he pictured the Bridge back then under Commodore Merith with the various faces taking their stations whilst the starship had explored the Mourir Nebula.

Janet had been rather estatic about Lieutenant Nash's being aboard, though she had only found out recently. She had grabbed herself a quick cup of coffee and was on her way up to the Bridge. I can not believe we are going to be doing this again she thought to herself as the turbolift doors closed and Janet had taken a few sips of coffee. Actual caffinated coffee for once. During her pregnancy, she was not permitted anything with caffiene as she did not want to take any risks, a Xenexian/Orion child was not common.

When the doors parted, she walked out onto the Bridge, her eyes shot over to the Operations station and there staring off in a lost boy gaze was the man himself, Owen Nash. Lieutenant pips just as she had left him when she left the Adelaide (the second time) and Janet couldn't help but snap her fingers. "LIEUTENANT!" she shouted, grabbing his attention. "You go off on too many of those fantasies and we won't be able to pull you back to reality, Nash" she commented. "Well, what are you waiting for...aren't you going to say hello to your First Officer, Lieutenant?"

Owen was just picturing the Bridge crew as it was when he heard a very familiar voice that in one move made him smile as well as send a shiver of mock dread down his spine: Lieutenant Commander Janet Glyndar.

"Yes sir!" he started before realising where he was. "Commander Glyndar, long time no see... I see that the Universe still has its sick sense of humour to put us together again..." He said, knowing how happy she was to see him.

She nodded "Rightfully so" she said with a small smirk. "Pandora, Adelaide, back to Pandora...are you stalking me Nash?" she said teasingly. "Honestly I don't know if the universe has so much a sick sense of hmour or if it is trying to send us some sort of message. Isn't it a bit peculiar that we almost always end up serving together? Perhaps we are soulmates in some...platonic sense" she offered.

Owen couldn't help but smile at that one. "Are you asking me out on a date, Commander? besides stalking is only illegal if the other party has an objection to it," he laughed. He did wonder deep down though...soulmates? Something did nag at him for a moment but Owen let it go as he was enjoying catching up with his friend again. "You could say so, maybe its destiny...maybe we're supposed to be together in some form as part of some unknown cosmic puzzle that needs all the pieces to fall in place..."

Janet looked at Owen and studied him for a moment. Hey, I could do worse she thought to herself and listented to Nash.

Owen stopped for a second before trying to lighten the mood again. "However its happened, despite someone thinking we're a good team on board the same ship, its good to know theres one face I will recognise on board," he said. That helped as well as being back on board and home again.

"We definitely are starting to have a good shape up with the crew" she replied. "At least I know we will have someone competent who I trust at the Operations station" she replied. "I met the Captain. He seems...well, he's no Merith, but I don't think we are in terrible hands" she continued.

Owen nodded her praise for him being on board. "I'll make sure that you'll get nothing but my best whilst I'm on board," he replied with a confident swagger.

"As for the Capatain? I'm pretty confident that we're in good hands once we get underway and get out there...although I hear the XO can be a challenge to work with" he said with a wink.

There was that feeling again...was Glyndar flirting with him? Owen wondered for a moment. His relationship with Sonya had been over for a long while now...could it be that...

"So, how have things been for you since we parted ways on the Adelaide? Has Starfleet kept you busy?" He asked in a wondering fashion.

"USS Hammersley, Task Force 38...Delta Quadrant. Chief Strategic Operations Officer for all but a week or two" she replied. "I came, I saw, I got maternal and left" she added shaking her head and shrugging her shoulders. "It's hard to be a single parent with a newborn in the Delta Quadrant."

Owen stopped for a second as she explained what had happened since they'd parted ways. A mother? "Wow, congratulations! I never knew..." he stammered, finding himself a little lost with thar revelation. "How old is your...son? daughter?" he asked trying to be as polite as possible with what little knowledge he had.

Janet smiled "Son and less than a month, Owen. I was on light duty on the Adelaide because I took maternity leave" she explianed. "Though I was pregnant when I left Pandora, just barely" she stated. "It was something Merith encouraged after I told her how I always wanted a family of my own."

Owen smiled for a moment and thought of what an amazing mother she would be and potentially already was. "Well, its good to know that your son has an amazing parent to bring him up in this big wide universe," he praised. Whilst the console continued on its way through the diagnostic, Owen kept glancing at the box that he had rested on the console next to him, although he was trying not to. His meeting with Captain Temple had been a good one with a surprising outcome. "So is your son aboard with you? it would be good to meet him sometime." he continued.

"My quarters are always there for the crew or so the description of my new role states. I guess personnel and crew morale really does come with the job of Executive Officer" she replied. "You're welcome to come by any time, Lieutenant. You know me. I do not make friends very easily and an old friend aboard this old starship may be exactly what I need to keep myself together" she stated.

"I'll take that as a date then," Owen said before pushing forward the little brown box he had with him. "Besides, it will give me time to get this pinned on to my uniform," he said before opening the box and showing her what was inside. "During my conversation with Captain Temple, he promoted me!" Owen announced triumphantly. "Lieutenant Commander Owen Nash now at your service."

Janet was quite impressed by this bit of news. "I see" she said crossing her arms and smirking a bit. "You felt like joining me up on the three pip tier?" she replied teasingly. "Congratulations, Commander Nash. I hope you enjoy your time aboard and of course the duties and responsibilities of serving as a three pip Department Head. If you aren't careful or are unlucky, you might end up as Second Officer" she added.

Owen smiled as he replied, "I'll keep that in mind...that's something I could handle quite nicely...amongst other things," he answered cryptically. Checking the time on his console, Owen looked back at Janet. "Well if you'll excuse me, Commander, I need to go and get settled in and arrange my quarters before the hard work begins," he explained.

"And I need to ensure the Captain is briefed on each Department and determine where we are still lacking" she replied. "We'll catch up later, Nash."
