Nyx found himself in the belly of the Pandora, the hungry engine of the ship's Marine compliment. He'd spent some time with the Marines throughout his career in Starfleet so the Captain never felt out of place walking through the corridors of a warrior's environment. Sometimes he missed the camaraderie and organisation, other times he remembered the rations and survival training. Still, there was a healthy respect from this Captain to the Marines, which he showed with a deep bow of his head to each one he passed on his way to see Major Haliwell.

Temple saw the old war dog in his office, and gave a jovial "Greetings Major!" as he entered.

The Major turned from working on a wall console upon hearing the Captain's voice and gave a soft chuckle, snapping a quick salute before returning the greeting with another chuckle "Greetings, Captain. What brings you down here to Marine Country?" he said with a chuckle, tucking his hands behind his back instinctively.

"A friendly visit and official business." Nyx replied, giving a respectful bow of his head to the Major. "As you know, we received a new Intelligence Officer, a Lieutenant Smith, from Carnwennan Station and he's come to assist us with our secondary mission."

The Major carefully moved behind his desk, sitting himself down carefully after the Captain sat, raising a slight brow at him.

Nyx took the initiative sit down in the chair opposite the Major's desk, "It appears our mutual friend, Tomar Gammit, was amongst the Ravager fleet that attacked Deep Space 7. Though the station was lost, he was able to gain some sensors readings, enough for you to possibly be able to track should we come across them once in the Expanse."

The Major growled slightly at the mention of Gammit, his eyes turning stoney as he murmurs "That bastard..."

"Indeed," Nyx replied with a smile, "My thoughts exactly. While it means we are a step closer to tracking him and taking him out, it also means we will likely have the Ravagers protecting him, which I don't like. I can only hope that if they fall for our trap, they don't come with their full fleet."

The Major gave a curt nod, his eyes turning icy as he looked to the Captain "It sounds like things could potentially get dicey then, Sir..." he paused, reaching up to scratch the forming stubble on his chin "I'd like to start the crew drilling, readiness drills for if we do get boarded by Ravagers and people of -HIS- ilk..."

"Absolutely," Nyx nodded emphatically, "I believe sooner or later we will come into conflict with Gammit and we may only have that moment to capture him. We must be ready."

The Major nodded, his eyes flashing with a primal, fierce fire as he gave his firm nod "Aye, the next time we encounter him, I want it to be the last..."

The Captain leaned back again, "How have you been finding the ship so far? Do your Marines have everything they need?"

The Major shrugged then chuckled "This ship has been fair, then again, I am used to cramped, confined quarters and having to smell each Marine around you..." he paused and smiles "At the moment, we're mostly good, I have been encouraging them to interact with the crew more..."

"Oh good," Nyx enthused, "They're as much a part of the crew as everyone else, I hope they know that. Perhaps we could have some kind of mixer on the Rec Deck? Whenever you next give them some liberty, of course."

The Major reached up and scratches the stubble on his chin, quirking a brow slightly "Aye, that could be interesting, both for my Marines and the Crew. As you can imagine, they're not normally used to interacting with folks outside of the unit..."

The captain laughed as he stood up, "As long as they can mind their P's and Q's, Major, I'm sure it'll be fine."

After giving a friendly farewell, Nyx left the Major's office and headed back to his own. He felt confident that Haliwell would be ready when D-Day finally arrives and the Pandora engages with Tomar Gammit, but he still felt anxious over the conflict to come.
