Owen looked in the mirror one last time as he stood before it in a fresh uniform, a new one where he wore a red command shirt and three pips on his collar: Two Gold and one black pip. Owen smiled.

After his recent promotion from Chief of Operations to Executive Officer on board, Owen was slowly starting to get used to the idea of being a command officer and it was taking a little while to get used to. He was glad of the recent meetings with Nycolas and also glad of the fact that his change in position on board didn't seem to have affected the crew in any way.

Through keeping in touch with various colleagues he had worked with over the years, Owen was aware that a change like this could sometimes lead to differing opinions and bad feeling. However he hadn't noticed anything like this and was glad to be making new friends on board. There was a growing comradeship between him and Lt Griffin which he was enjoying and Owen was also glad of the friendship that was building with the likes of Brennan, Wakefield and Richmond.

One thing he missed was the companionship of being with his partner Janet. After several years of serving together on several ships, Owen had finally admitted his feelings for her and he was glad that it was something he had finally done. For now she was off on her new role as a SCIS Officer and he couldn't wait for her return back on board Pandora...or at least a time where they could both meet up and spend some time together.

Janet also had the luxury of being a former Pandora Officer during the tour under Commodore Merith at the same time Owen served on board and to Owen that helped the place feel like home again. Having worked on the Luna Class Thinktank and serving on board Pandora twice made the place feel homely. Now being the Executive Officer made this place all the more important to him.

Owen took one more look in the mirror before deciding to head off to the Senior Officers Meeting that had been called. He also took note of the message and invite left by Cailus to meet up in the Pandora's Box for a game of Pool. That was something he hadn't played for a long while, since he served on his fathers ship the USS Maiden and he was eager to get back into practice again. Plus it had the added attraction of spending more time with Cailus and getting to know him more as a friend.

Owen made his way to the Turbolift and made a small adjustment to his collar as he got used to the new uniform. There were interesting times ahead and he was glad that he was on board the Pandora again to be a part of them.
