Krysia sat in the chair that the nurse had provided for her next to James' biobed, she was getting worried about the fact that he hadn't yet stirred from his coma. She slid her hand gently in his, it seemed strange to see him young again after seeing him grow old alongside her in the bubble but it was also nice knowing they had that life to live together again. "James....please wake up, I feel like I've lost so much please don't leave me."

James felt like he was floating in a haze, the memory of Krysia and their life together was fresh in his memory. Watching Aurura and Nick grow up to become members of the crew was a proud day for him. He was so thrilled when Samantha was born and he became a grandfather. The loss of Nyx still haunted him but the crew found a way to survive within the bubble. Smith couldn’t tell if he was floating between life and death, but in the shadows he thought he heard his name, it sounded like Krysia but how could that be she was gone, however, the voice keep talking to him.

She lay her head on the biobed by his hand, she was tired but she didn't want to go back to her own bed and leave him. "Wake up James...please wake up!"

Slowly James open his eyes everything was so bright. Looking over he saw Krysia Head next to her hand. Thinking that he was dreaming he reached to touch her. His movements were sluggish but he realized this reality was real. Moving his hand again he said, “where am I.”

Krysia reaches for James’ hand and gently held it “You're awake! we’re in sickbay” she looked around as a nurse came over to see James awake before heading off to tell Tyson. “This is gong to take some explaining James....I’ve been waiting for you to wake up.”

“What happened, where’s Aurora, Nick and Samantha, why aren’t they here too?”

Tears came to Krysia’s eyes as he mentioned their children & granddaughter “They’re Not here James....” she gently lay her head on his chest “I wish they were!! Whatever happened to us in that bubble doesn’t exist here, our children & granddaughter never existed.”

James looked around the sickbay confused, “The life we lived weren’t real but out life together, the birth of our children and grandchild the death of Nyx. I am so confused.”

“I know....” she lifted her head before lifting her hand & gently sweeping some hair away from his face. “It hurts...so much!” She kept her emotions in check not wanting to upset him as he’d just awoken. “I’m just glad I still have you James, we lived out one life together and I want to do it again. I’m never leaving your side ever again!”

James managed a weak smile, “I’m never leaving your side again either. I really want that family again and to go grow old together.”

Krysia smiled before looking around sickbay, “I just want to get out of here now, I need time to process this James we all do.” She wiped tears from her eyes, “I just want to cuddle up to you.”

“Well once the doctor and nurses release me we can head back to quarters to rest and try to process everything that happened. I’m sure we won’t be released for full duty until our psych evaluations are done.”

“Guess that gives us more time together though” Krysia smiled. “I remember when we were in the bubble....Rochester shooting you, I thought there and then that he was going to kill you and I was going to have to be without you! I can’t do that...not anymore.” She stood and gently leaned over giving him a romantic kiss, “I love you so much.”

Kissing her back, James said, “I Love you as well”. James looked around before putting his legs over the edge of the bed, and said, “Let’s go home.” The time in the bubble was still weighing heavily on his mind, but it was time to make the most of the life they were returned to, and he was determined to live life to the fullest with Krysia.

"Are you sure you're up to this?" she remembered the first time she'd woken up but she had been disoriented as to where she was and what was going on. She helped him as best as she could looking around to see if anyone had noticed James was up and on his feet, fortunately there seemed to be something going on that required Tyson's attention so they managed to slip out mostly unnoticed and headed for James' quarters.
