With the negotiations wrapping up, Temple, Griffin, Sandoval, and Larose bid farewell to their Irokari counterparts. Delivery of the aid had been negotiated to the finest detail, which required a neutral transport vessel to arrive at Paradise to take claim of the supplies. To the Pandora crew, this was a helpful delay that would allow them to investigate the station and find the intel they needed, as well as giving the crew time to relax and unwind.

As the team left the meeting room, heading back into the Atrium foyer, Nyx turned to the others and smiled. "Well, that went well."

“Thank you, Captain,” John replied. He turned to Cailus and Emmanuelle. “And thank you both. I’m glad we didn’t need either of you, but it’s good you were here regardless. I hope it wasn’t too boring.”

“Learned a lot, Lieutenant,” replied Emmanuelle. “I appreciate the assignment,” she said to both of her superior officers.

"Good," Cailus said curtly, although his eyes kept tracking the atrium warily. "But keep your head straight, Larose. If Lieutenant Sandoval is happy with your service after this mission, and alive, we can discuss whether to make this a permanent assignment."

“Permission to speak freely, Captain?” John said.

"So long as our hosts don't mind hearing it." Nyx added, lowering his voice a touch. He was undoubtedly of the belief that they were being listened to at every moment while on this level. They were walking without a Paradise Guard, but that didn't mean they weren't being monitored.

“You have a talent for diplomacy,” John added. “I don’t know your history with this type of work, but you’re quite good at it. And you have a good diplomacy story to tell next time you see your brother. Whom I would love to meet when we return to Federation space if possible,” John added with a sheepish smile.

"Oh," Nyx exclaimed a little, surprised by the compliment. "Thank you, that's far too kind. I'm haphazard at best, to be honest. Just try to get the result we need. My brother is the diplomat, he'll talk the leg off the chair and the leg will thank him for it. I hope he'll pay us a visit sometime, too."

“I’ve known many diplomats like that,” John said. “Talking as an art, and things get done.”

Nyx nodded and turned to Lieutenant Griffin, "It appears Katya has given the rest of the crew an open invitation to visit the station. Now that we've seen some parts of their protocols, how would you suggest we proceed?"

"Very carefully, sir," Cailus said dourly. In contrast to the others' relaxed smiles, Cailus was still as stiff and emotionless as ever, as if he was utterly incapable of anything else. "I recommend setting very limited liberty. Shields would be kept up at all times except during transport. No more than one hundred fifty of the crew would be permitted off the ship at any time, and only so many from each department so that we maintain operational readiness at all times during our stay here. All personnel should be briefed on the station's local laws, such as the strict prohibition of energy-based weapons. That level of caution is high, but under the circumstances, I believe that it's warranted."

“The administrators appear not to want to kill us,” said John. “They would have spaced us if they didn’t like us. But remembering the chaos in orbit, the same can’t be said of the people who live here or who are visiting. Caution seems fair.”

"I agree. In fact, I feel we should limit the amount of crew coming onboard to fifty at a time. Visitation will work in shifts, based on their current roster." Nyx said firmly as the group reached the elevator station. "Mr. Sandoval, based on what we have seen already, would you prepare a brief dossier on protocols and behaviour for the crew. While I trust that everyone will behave themselves, I feel an extra note of... respect for our hosts will be necessary."

"Yes, sir," John said. "I'll prepare a memorandum to all crew. I've done these before on my last assignment. No one will get into trouble because they didn't understand the rules, or were disrespectful to Paradise Station administration." His staff had put together a lot of information on Paradise Station already. They could disseminate it through the ship once John gave it the necessary polish.

"Mr. Griffin, are you aware of Lieutenants Mindo and Kaleri's location? We should rendezvous with them before we allow the crew to come over." Nyx added.

"I can find out," Cailus said, tapping his combadge. A swift conversation with the Pandora later, he reported, "Lieutenant Mindo has just arrived with his team, sir. He and Lieutenant Kaleri appear to be on the station's main commercial area, eight decks below us."

Nyx smiled, “Thank you. I will return to the Pandora for now and initiate our next steps. Cailus, can you assist Kaleri with Katya’s request? I’m not sure what’s taking so long. And Mr Sandoval, I feel it would be prudent to help facilitate Mr Mindo’s project.”

"Yes, sir," said John. "I'll go find Mr. Mindo. Ensign Larose and I will walk the promenade to find him and explore the station en route. See what good we can do while we're here, and see what the station has to offer the crew."

Cailus, for his part, simply nodded curtly at the captain's orders.

“We’ll start sending crew over in small groups for now.” Nyx added after a thought. He looked to the officers and considered what they had just achieved. “Let’s hope the rest of our mission goes as smoothly.” He said with a shrug.
