Mission: Death in Paradise
Location: XO's Office
Timeline: Current

With the current movements of the various members of the crew of the Pandora back and forth on Paradise Station, Owen had taken a look around himself and found the place to be somewhat... quaint for want of a better word.

Despite the many questions that were being raised about the differing inconsistencies of the station, Owen had enjoyed his previous lunch date with Krys on the station and whilst he'd admitted there were questions he had, which for no didn't seem like they were going to be answered.

With Nyx back on board again, Owen had taken some time out to catch up on his paperwork whilst they were docked at the station. Having made his way to his office, Owen walked in and saw there were several PADD's waiting for him with reports and messages to be viewed approved.

Walking over to the replicator, Owen stood for a moment. "Computer, Raktajino, hot, double sweet," he ordered. As the drink appeared before him, Owen picked it up and headed over to his desk to begin going through the various reports and messages.

The first PADD he picked up was a message from Starfleet Command regarding some new officers due to join the crew whilst the ship was at the station. Owen read on as he took a sip of the drink and instantly felt better from its effects.

Reading further he noted that the Pandora was to receive a new Chief Operations Officer in the form of one Lieutenant Arlowe Tate and also a new Assistant Chief Engineering Officer, a Lieutenant Bethany Robinson. Having been the ships former Chief of Operations, straight away he felt that Tate had a high level to obtain in her work, however, he also knew that the best and brightest were coming out of the Academy these days and was certain she would fit in.

Seeing Robinson's name on the report also made him smile. Mindo had been in need of a good Assistant Chief Engineer of late with all of the fun the ship had encountered in recent times and was Owen was interested to see how she would cope with his friend.

Finally, there was confirmation that the Pandora was gaining a new Science officer as well, a Denobulan called Kessil. Owen was looking forward to meeting these newest additions to the crew and was happy that there were more bodies arriving to help fill out the required positions on board. He still saw the ship as home and hoped that these new faces would fit in well with everyone else.

Making a note to meet up with each of the new officers once they were settled on board, Owen took a sip of his drink before moving to the next report. This was an Intel report that went into detail advising about the movements of Starfleet ships out of the Expanse. It confirmed that the Magellan was on cleanup duty and was making good progress as the Galaxy Class starship helped to round up the various vessels in the area and head back to Federation space.

He noted that the Palatine was waiting on the edge of that space, staying on the right side of the border, however, he also knew that Captain Rao would do all he could to standby in support of the Pandora. reading that the Palatine was holding her position made Owen chuckle a little and also gave him reassurance that there was support waiting if they needed any to get out of the current area fast.

He worked through the Operations report from Ensign Veers and wondered for a moment how she would react and cope with working alongside Tate. Veers had improved greatly in recent weeks and Owen was considering recommending her for a promotion in rank alone after her hard work on board. He made a note of this to come back to later on.

Soon after he had completed the various reports that were waiting to be approved and responded back to and for a moment, he looked at the photo he had of both he and Janet. It had been some time since he'd heard from his esteemed other half and decided to once again send off a message to the Director at SCIS HQ to request an update on the location of his partner. Having not had a serving SCIS #Agent on board since she'd left, Owen was concerned about both Janet and her child. It had been a long while since he'd received one of her "I'm fine, Nash, stop worrying about me!" messages.

Know Janet as well as he did, Owen knew she was ok when she had sent one of this off to him, however, the silence was getting to him recently. He made a mental note to catch up with Cailus over a game of pool afterwards as well. It had been a while since they'd done that and he needed the company. With Krys and James busy preparing for the twin's arrival, Owen had stayed to one side letting them get on with it as he felt best to do.

Finally, he came across a message from his father, Captain Nash on the USS Maiden. Having been assigned to the Beta Quadrant some time ago, Owen had been trying his best to get both he and Krys on a Runabout and out to see him so that he could finally meet the daughter he never knew existed until a few months ago. Adding in that Krys was soon to be giving him his first grandchildren was also an important subject that he'd need to discuss.

Reading on in the message sent, his father confirmed that he was ok and that the Maiden was sailing on happily, however, he did express his concern to Owen that they still hadn't cleared the Expanse yet. He made it very clear that he wanted confirmation when the Pandora was back in Federation space again. Finally, he updated Owen in the message on Andrea Madison, the rogue officer who had tried to kill him several years ago.

Madisons last location was reported to be in the Expanse, however, Starfleet Intelligence had since seen her working alongside Alrakis Pact agents and this made increased her threat level within the organisation. Owen took this seriously and knew that if Madison made her way to the Pandora, she would be a very dangerous threat. Captain Fawkes on the Atlas had attached a report to the message and once he had completed reading it, Owen was brought up to speed on Madisons last reported whereabouts and what Starfleet believed her intentions to be...which they believed still involved Owen.

After taking this in and contemplating the situation, Owen decided that he needed a break, a serious break. The thought of a game of pool with Cailus came back to him and he made the decision on the spot. Finishing his drink and filing off the PADD's, making sure all messages were sent, Owen made his way to rec deck, where he knew the table was waiting.

"I need some leave soon," he said to himself as he walked out of his office.
