The ship had certainly taken a beating when she had regained consciousness the power was out, emergency power was doing its job and she had heard over the public address that any senior officers should report to the Bridge, but the last conversation she recalled was speaking to the Bridge so surely they should already be there. Anyway, her position as Chief Research Officer did technically qualify her as a senior officer, so she better head up there to see what was going on.

Before heading off she smiled as she noticed Lieutenant Ashshy helping people to there feet, she didn't really know the man, as far as she recalled he was a recent new addition, but as the Assistant Chief Science Officer, Katniss should really keep more up to and introduce herself to these people, but for now that could wait.

"Lieutenant Ashshy, help who you need to help and then try and get people working on getting the systems back up, we need to start analysing all the sensor data just before the wave hit, I have a bad feeling," she said rubbing her head.

Eiri stepped over to her with the medical kit, his scanner raised, checking her head and neck carefully with the medical tricorder. His face was a blank, Vulcan mask, giving him the look of someone who was not at all amused. "You have a mild concussion..." he said flatly and reached for a hypospray and attempted to give it to her.

"Mild concussion, don't worry about me Lieutenant," she said brushing the hypospray away with her hand. "Not much in that empty cavity to get damaged anyway," she said with a smile "But thank you. I'm heading to the bridge, we need to find out what's going on."

Eiri made a tiny, frustrated noise. "I cannot have you passing out. How much good to do you think you will be then?" It was hard to read his expression since it was Vulcan stoicness. "I agree that we should find out what is going on. The comms are either not working or there is a much larger problem."

The corridors were just the same as the labs, people were scrambling about and the emergency lighting was flickering along with the red alert lighting which early lit up the corridor if main power was out, the Jefferies tubes were probably going to be her best bet, but that was certainly going to be some climb for her, but duty calls.

-Main Bridge, Deck 1-

After what seemed and felt like hours, Katniss finally made it to the bridge, she was sweating and a little out of breath, she glanced around the sparsely populated Bridge looking for Lieutenant Brennan, the last thing she recalled was speaking to her, but other than some junior officers and Command Nash and herself, there were no senior officers present. "What the hell," she accidentally said out loud, before glancing at the Commander. "I was speaking to Lieutenant Brennan, just before the wave hit, have they gone to help others or... or where are they?" she asked.

Owen looked across to see Katniss appear on the Bridge. With his report already filed with Admiral Li and clear orders left with him, Owen left the Ready Room and walked over to her. "Lieutenant, welcome to what's left of the Bridge, it's good to see your okay... It looks like you're in one piece..." Owen said, relieved to see that she was okay.

"Thank you sir," she replied looking at the sorry state of the bridge.

Owen looked around the bridge before explaining what had happened. "It seems that the probe we sent out to record further data seems to have caused a reaction in the phenomenon," Owen explained. "The Pandora suffered damage to her weapons systems, Shields and Warp systems once the wave made contact... however, upon further investigation it seems that the Senior Officers on the Bridge and any on-duty Bridge personnel have disappeared... We've managed to get comms back online and the turbolifts were reactivated in the last few minutes. Mindo is definitely earning his keep in Engineering."

After finishing his explanation, Owen called over Counselor Jameson and Lieutenant Parrino to join him deciding now was a good time to bring them up to speed.

Arriving back on the bridge after her short time in her quarters resting Aeryn walked over to join the others. "Do we know what's going on as yet or are we still going by guesswork?"

Owen took on a thoughtful pose. "Well, we're still working on educated guesses, let's put it that way but I have a few ideas," he said. "Lieutenant Wakefield, one problem we have is understanding why the Bridge staff disappeared and if this is connected to the reaction the probe caused in the wave... if there is research you can do that links these results, that would help my next report to Starfleet..." Owen explained.

"I hate to be the one to have to say this Sir, but we also have to look at the possibility that the bridge crew are." She paused for a moment not wanting to be the one to say it, but someone had to. "They could be dead, the wave could have vaporized them or." She stopped feeling the eyes of the crew burning into her. "But I'll liaise with Science, as I'm the assistant chief science officer as well, I'll keep things in shape and intertwine the two and hopefully come up with some answers."

Owen considered her comments carefully as he listened to the points made by Katniss.

"Thank you for your directness Lieutenant, I appreciate your explanation on this issue but I can't presume the missing crew members are dead yet... unless you present me with concrete evidence to the contrary," he explained to her.

"In the meantime, continue you with your investigation leading the Science team and get me some good news," he explained to Katniss.

"Aye, sir, I'll get on it right away," she replied, hating to think that her colleagues were dead, she needed answers like the rest of them.

"Lieutenant Parrino, I'd like you to pour over the sensor logs of the USS Merrimack... she's the last Federation Starship to log a contact with the wave. Myself and Lt Smith found a break in those logs and I'd like you to work deeper into the logs to see if this happened to them as well. That could open up another avenue of investigation..." Owen instructed.

Owen finally turned to Counsellor Jameson. "Counsellor, as you explained earlier to me, you seemed to sense the presence of the Captain and several others who seem to be missing... that suggests to me that the missing officers have been displaced somehow. I want you to work on expanding your sense range if possible and to see if you can reach out to them... That could be a vital clue in what's happened here," Owen explained.

"I can try Commander," Aeryn nodded. "I'm not going to make any promises that it'll work, but I'll do my best."

Just then the turbolift doors opened again to reveal Lieutenant Mindo holding a toolkit and looking very haggard. His hair was messed up and there was a large bruise forming on his forehead. "Someone said the Bridge might need an Engineer up here. I drew the smallest straw," he said, stepping out of the turbolift. "Just kidding. I volunteered. What's the prognosis, Commander?"

Owen felt a sense of relief as he saw his friend appear on the Bridge. Ever since their run in with the two Mendazians and the ion storm, Owen had made a firm friend and he needed that right now. "Mindo, thank god for good surprises, this will make this next part a little easier," Owen said before heading for the Captain's Chair and uncomfortably taking a seat.

"As of this stardate, under orders of Admiral Li at Carwennan Station, I am now in command of the Pandora. Starfleet has made me Captain of this vessel until further notice." He let the news settle in with the rest of the crew assembled on the Bridge. "Lieutenant Mindo, as per the Chain of Command, you just became my Executive Officer as well as staying on as Chief Engineer," Owen explained before continuing.

Looking over at Katniss, Owen continued. "Lieutenant, until further notice I'm appointing you as our Chief Science Officer and I'm appointing you as my Second Officer... is that clear?" Owen asked.

Katniss nodded, she wished it was under better circumstances, but the ship needed a clear chain of command "Aye Sir."

Owen turned to the rest of the Officers on the Bridge. "The situation is simple. Somehow, the Bridge crew have been... moved from the ship at the time of the wave making contact with us. We need to find our people and fast. Starfleet know of our situation and the USS Palatine is on standby if we require her assistance... but I want us to get our people home first." Owen then brought Mindo up to speed with his orders for Jameson, Wakefield and Parrino.

Mindo nodded as Nash gave him the update. "I'll do anything you need, of course," he said. "With your permission, I'd like to bring up a small team from Engineering to assess the situation on the Bridge. We may also want someone from Science working with them as well. It looks to me like the Bridge is the best place to start in this investigation."

"Sounds like a good plan to me. Get a team up here and a Science officer to assist you as well," Owen agreed. "Where are we with propulsion? Do we have impulse power?" he asked Mindo.

"Yes," said Mindo. "I can get us to full impulse if need be. The warp drive should be fixed within the next two hours, but I won't be able to give you top speed for at least another day."

Owen nodded. "That's a start. Let's get warp power online and then worry about getting our top speedback later," Owen explained. He looked around the rest of the officers on the Bridge. "Our friends are missing and it's up to us to find them, let's get to work."

Walking over to the Ensign at the helm, Owen ordered her to move the ship away from its current position, but to stay in the current sector.

Aeryn nodded, it had been a while since she'd last let her mental shields fully down, for now she took a slow walk around the bridge pausing here and there to get a sense. She had to admit she wasn't getting as strong a sense as she had before. "Might I suggest you have Doctor Brookes on hand Commander..." she looked at Nash, "It's been a while since I last let my defences all the way down, there are still a lot of minds on this ship... I might some help to close off again."

Owen nodded as he took her recommendation on board. "That's a good idea, although Dr Brookes is working his search parties throughout the ship to see if anyone is hurt... I'll contact him to how he's doing before getting him up to the Bridge," Owen agreed.

Aeryn nodded, "It might be okay, I suggested it just as a precaution," she turned her attention back to her walk around picking out the best area where she might get a good sense pausing by the Ops station where she got her last good sense of Krysia, "Let's try here," she looked at Nash.

"Very well, now... Be careful," he cautioned.

Letting her mental barriers down a little at a time so as to avoid a sudden rush of emotions Aeryn closed her eyes for a moment to get a better grasp on all the emotions & thoughts now pouring into her head, refining it as best as she could she tried to focus on Krysia since she was the last good sense she’d had what she got was a the sensation of a thumping headache & the overwhelming sensation of being light headed. For a moment there was a very strong sense of Krysia, Nyx & Shae then it was gone again. Aeryn sank to the deck.

Owen rushed over to her and went to help Aeryn sit up on the deck. He could see that she was overcome by something that seemed very powerful. "Counselor... Counselor, are you alright?" he asked.

Aeryn could hear Nash trying to talk to her but her senses had focussed in on some very strong emotions from the direction of Lieutenant Mindo and that combined with all the other emotions was making it very hard to shut her mind off again. She focused herself on Nash and slowly brought herself back, accepting a hand to get up to the nearest chair she sat at the empty Ops station. “I... did get a sense...” she looked up at Owen. “Krysia, the Captain and Lieutenant Brennan” she shook her head, “It was very... brief,” she sat with her head in her hands.

"What did you sense?" asked Mindo. He reached out and put a hand on her shoulder. "Are they in pain?"

Aeryn flinched as Mindo put his hand on her shoulder before offering an apologetic smile, "I couldn't tell... I did feel very dizzy, light headed..." she shook her head. "It could just be a residual sensation, it might be nothing."

Owen looked at Mindo with hopefulness before returning back to Jameson. "But you definitely felt something? Enough to be able to recognize them?" he asked.

"I sensed them but for all I know I sensed an echo of them..." She looked at Nash. "There's no way to really say for sure."

Owen looked up at the others. "That's our starting point then, let's see what we can do from here," he said.
