Temple was enjoying a moment off from duty as a Captain, and indulging in his other full-time job as parent to an irrepressible four year old. The two were having an ear-piercing karaoke session, singing songs from some of Katrine's favourite movies. They 'couldn't wait to be kings', loved life 'under the sea', had to 'let it go', and painted with all the 'colours of the winds'. Neither Temple was considerably talented in the field of singing, and if it weren't for sound proofing in the Pandora's walls - usually reserved for keeping out the noises of warp engines and ship operations - it's likely that the ship's crew would have thought several cats were being strangled inside the Captain's quarters. Of course, none of that compared to the dancing. The fun, wild, completely uncoordinated dancing.

Tyson had wrenched his hands in both. He hated to walk in to his Captain's quarters visiting un announced. However this was the way it had to go, since house calls suddenly had become vogue. Captain Temple was someone who seen follow ups as not that necessary. He had come in late for one check up on his leg, yet another appointment he had re-arranged only to find that he would not show up. The classic patient game of football.

Chiming the door to the Captain's Quarters he was certain he could have heard some talk from within the walls. Tyson nodded to some nice female officer walking past him, before hearing the reply from the quarters.

As another song finished, the one about bear necessities, Nyx paused the music and listened. "Did you hear that?"

"Door!" Katrine cried, immediately jumping off the couch from where she had been performing, and running towards the entryway. "Can I open?" She asked, pleadingly.

Nyx caught up to his daughter, trying to hide how out of breath he really was, and put his hand on her small shoulder. "Let's ask who it is first." He called out, "Who's there?"

"Captain Temple, Sir." Tyson stood firm and composed, foretting that Lieutenant that had just passed. "You have time for a check up. I'm making a house call." Doc Brookes then used his medical briefcase and edged it through the doorway into his Quarters.

With the door opened and shoe-horned by the doctor, Nyx resigned himself to his check up. "Come in." He sighed.

"Who are you?" Katrine asked, pouting slightly at the sight of the unfamiliar man.

Setting down his med kit, Brookes looked at lil' Katrine. He was tall, and a stranger imposing to the young one. "I am a crew member of the Pandora.... I am Doctor Brookes." He gestured with a slight smile, not wanting to go overboard to scare Katrine.

"What songs do you know?" She demanded to know.

"Songs." Tyson was taken off guard. He didnt know any he could remember, let alone any of his music could be rated for a 5 year old child, especially of of the Captains to hear such... Amazingness!

"Well there is one, However we would need music to sing it!" "Do you want to hear it?" He asked Katrine with an excited grin.

“Yeeeeeeeeeesssss!” Came the excited reply, as Nyx hoped the Doctor had bought a hypospray of aspirin.

With input from Nyx Tyson had the computer replay... It was a song that had come to mind when comforting patients, some real tough times he had experienced and learned from. "It's called ‘you are my sunshine’." "I bet you've heard it though before have you Katrine?" Tyson asked with a raised brow. He was getting out a few drugs for the hypo spray, as he had her father Nyx lay down with his leg across the sofa, as Tyson applied a neuron nanititae and anti rejection meds.

Nyx kept his trained big smile on his face, which he’d learnt from years of pretending to enjoy activities for the sake of your child. He mostly didn’t want to upset Katrine, who, despite her singing along to Brooke’s song, was eyeing off the medical procedure with a curious state.

“Min mor sings this to me.” Katrine said gleefully, her eyes never really moving off the Doctor’s movements. “Daddy doesn’t.”

“Well that’s because Daddy doesn’t know it.” Nyx said happily. “But I know the one about beans being magical fruit.”

Tyson laughed. The Family was quite the interaction. The Captain's daughter Katrine seemed the same attitude as the Captain, and how he had played along into her. They were a lucky family. Tyson smiled a bit to his self, as he scanned the Captain's leg, checking in on the bone structure from micro level.

"Your doing well sir. I see Katrine has been ensuring you are healthy in the exercise department."

"She gets me up and about." Nyx smiled to his daughter, who was now singing to one of her teddy bears.

"How have you been feeling? Have you had any pain in your leg?" Tyson asked in his check up. He noticed how Katrine was interested in what they were discussing. A typical child of her age, learning. It was an interesting aspect, a Captain with his Family, an active one, aboard a deep space starship.

"It's okay for most of the day, but it starts to feel a little ache in the afternoons." Nyx replied, "I feel like it's getting stronger but I haven't tested it out in the Gym much as yet."

Doctor Brookes used a cortico-stimulator along with a portable node. The applied node on Captain Temples micro fractures on his fractured leg. The Osteo-stimulator and osteogenetic pathways would be regenerated. Only now in the stage of recovery was he able to apply the density measures.

"Sir, you should wear this exterior dermal node for 4 days. It will ensure your frame is completely healed. You will notice less associated fatigue and joint pain." Tyson suited the Captain with the small unit, marking the time and frequency sets to his medical tricorder.

The Captain nodded, "Will do. How are you settling in then, Doctor? Are the rest of the crew coming to see you?"

"Medical bay has been busy with a few emergencies." He nodded rather cool and cocky "But I handled it Sir." He then broke into a laugh. "I'm not like that, just wow your daughter is still watching us...."

Tyson turned to see the toddler transfixed.

"You don't want to start a staring contest with her." Nyx remarked, laughing. He picked up one of Katrine's toys from the floor and chucked it over to her. "Hey bug-a-lugs, you're supposed to be getting ready for the tea party."

Katrine nodded and jumped off the edge of the couch where she'd been watching the Doctor. She began gathering up her toys, talking to each one about how they were about to go a fancy afternoon tea.

"You're more than welcome to stay." Nyx returned to the Doctor with a smile.

The Captain had got a laugh out of Tyson. Nyx was a good person and he could sense that. What other commanding officer would invite you to a tea party with his daughter? "Thank you Sir..." He checked his tricorder link up with his medical bay main computer on deck six.

"I think perhaps one guest would be enough. Considering..." He politely declined seeing how many stuffed toys were being given a verbal invitation to the tea party "I think you will have Lieutenant Griffin arriving to keep the noise down." He grinned.

"Now. I'm going to have a cellular kinetics profile run on your leg in the next 24 hours. This will help determine how well your bone marrow, tendons have regenerated. On Earth, we would not have to do this type of testing, however in space artificial gravity still may cause some issues." He still could not believe he was talking about being in space!

"Thank you, Doctor, you've been a miracle worker." Nyx replied earnestly. He stopped to consider the young Lieutenant for a moment, realising to himself that no matter how many new and different crew members he had welcomed onto the Pandora, each one had their own skills, talents, and originality - and he would never tire of meeting new faces. The Doctor's history was unique and more than a little strange, even in this day and age, but he had adapted incredibly well to his new time period and a world that was significantly different to the life he had left behind.

"One small thing, if you don't mind me asking." Nyx spoke as he walked Tyson to the doorway. "Forgive my curiosity, but have you tried to find out if you have any descendants or family?"

The question that Nyx had asked him was a good question. Tyson had not taken much thought to contacting any If there were any, familial descendants of the Brooke Family. Naturally, Tyson was curious, and more unusual than others due to the fact of being 300 years old stock.

“Perhaps soon Sir., I should start looking.” He pondered. “I just don’t… I don’t know what to expect to find. That is the hardest part; I don’t know if I can handle something terrible.” He furrowed in thought. He shook it off at the doorway of Nyx Quarters.

“Katrine.” Tyson bent down at the doorway. Tyson pulled out two bright suckers. “This is for you Katrine. This is for your Papa. And this is for Emilie your Mother.”

“Yaaaass!” Cried Katrine as she jumped up from her spot, ran over to Tyson and retrieved the lollipop. “Thank you Mister Doctor man.”

“Well, I best be on my way. Sickbay calls Sir. Thank you for the hospitality.”

“Feel free to stop by anytime.” Nyx said in return.
