ON:

"Coming through!" Nycolas Temple called out as he and Emilie emerged from the Turbolift.

"Oh put me down!" Emilie cried with a giggle.

"Not till we're inside!" Nyx replied, shifting his hands slightly.

"You are ridiculous, my love." Emilie sighed.

The Captain was currently carrying his wife through the corridors of Deck 2 as they headed towards their quarters. Nyx had barely been away from Emilie since going off duty, and he wasn't about to let go just yet. Though the Medics had given Emilie the all clear, Nyx was not going to take any chances and insisted on personally carrying her over the threshold.

The doors into the quarters parted as Nyx carried Emilie inside, the couple laughing as he walked her over to couch and laid her down gently, Nyx now on his knees in front of his reclining wife.

"And we have touch down." He whispered, still holding his arms around her.

Emilie leaned in and kissed Nyx gently, "Thank you. That was a lot smoother than the last trip I was on."

Nyx nodded, his eyes fixed on hers, "So you don't regret coming?"

Emilie clasped her hand on Nyx's hairy chin, "Absolutely not."

"Good," Nyx replied softly and they kissed again.

After a moment, Emilie rested back into the pillow behind her head and sighed, "Are you sure Katrine is okay?"

Nyx nodded, his gaze unmoved from her eyes, "The nanny is with her, she's been fast asleep for over an hour."

Emilie smiled again and gave a small nod, before craning her neck to have a proper look around at Nyx's Pandoran quarters for the first time.

"Gees, this place is bigger than our first apartment," She said with a laugh.

"You mean that broom closet next to your father's house?" Nyx chuckled, remembering their small home together back on Lucis V.

"Exactly." Emilie laughed. "Don't think I haven't noticed you gave yourself a family suite, either, Nyx."

Nyx feigned surprise, "It was just in case!"

Emilie prodded his shoulder playfully, "I don't buy that for a second."

Nyx smiled, "No, no, I was just planned on making a new family. I have a bunch of Ferengi women to interview in about half hour, so you'll have to bugger off for a while."

"Nycolas William Temple!" Emilie cried, eyes scowling but her lips curled into a begrudging smile. "I don't find that funny."

Nyx leaned in and kissed Emilie gently again, then as he pulled back he whispered, "I always hoped you would come."

Emilie was soothed by her husband's faith, even when she doubted her own ability to make the move off Earth and join the Pandora. Even when she thought just stepping onto a shuttle to leave the safety of a planet was just a step too far. Even with the various set backs they had endured on the journey to be reunited.

"You believed in me?" Emilie asked softly. "I honestly didn't think I could..."

Nyx frowned, shaking his head slightly, not listening to any doubts, "You're the bravest person I know. I always believed."

Emilie pulled Nyx in again, and the couple hugged together tightly, savouring this moment together and staying together in this embrace for several minutes.

"So, my love..." Emilie eventually cooed into his ear, "This place have a bedroom?"

Nyx lifted back and raised his eyebrows, "Are you sure? What about taking it easy?"

"It's been a long time apart," Emilie replied, looking seriously to her husband, "And I've missed you."

"Well then..." Nyx smiled, pulling his arms tightly around Emilie once more. "We have lift off."

For all the adversity they had faced, the deep raging rivers they had come across and passed, the faith between Nyx and Emilie had never faded. Indeed, as they came together for the first time in several weeks, the longest they had spent apart since first meeting on Lucis V, they still made love like the passionate, new sweethearts they had been back then. With all the care and energy and closeness of a couple that had weathered the storms and came out the other side stronger and more connected than ever before. It was more than comfort, or familiarity, it was just two souls burning to be together.

Emilie was on the couch again, somehow wearing Nyx's Command jacket, as her husband prepared two mugs of tea in the replicator for them both. Nyx walked over with the steaming cups and handed one over to Emilie as he sat down.

"You can probably be arrested for wearing that," He commented as he sat down, wrapping an arm around Emilie.

Emilie looked down at the top and frowned, "What's the point of being married to a Captain if you can't sometimes wear the jacket?"

Nyx laughed, "Is that why you're with me, huh? The perks?"

Emilie patted his leg, giving him a kiss on the cheek before taking a long, purposefully slow sip of her tea; she swallowed just as slowly and sighed. Finally she answered with a half-serious tone, "Yes."

Temple let out a loud chuckle, "I thought so."

"Besides," Emilie continued, nuzzling into Nyx's shoulder, "You may need reminding sometimes that even the Captain of a starship has a partner."

"Is that so?" Nyx asked with a playful smile.

Emilie nodded, "I'm no stay-at-home wife and mother, Nycolas, I intend to take a position in the Civilian services on this ship and have my own career."

Nyx shrugged, "Apply for any role you desire. I will have to interview you though, to see if you're up for the job."

"Fair enough," She replied without hesitation, "I will do just that."

Nyx held her tighter, leaning his head against hers, "Not just now, though, right? We've got all night."

Emilie used her free hand to rub his chin again, in the way only she could, as she answered, "Of course, my love."
